In her interview with Katie Couric Sarah Palin essentially called Henry Kissinger naive and also proved that she just hasn't done her homework.

Couric: You met yesterday with former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who is for direct diplomacy with both Iran and Syria. Do you believe the U.S. should negotiate with leaders like President Assad and Ahmadinejad?

Palin: I think, with Ahmadinejad, personally, he is not one to negotiate with. You can't just sit down with him with no preconditions being met. Barack Obama is so off-base in his proclamation that he would meet with some of these leaders around our world who would seek to destroy America and that, and without preconditions being met. That's beyond naïve. And it's beyond bad judgment.

Couric: Are you saying Henry Kissinger ...

Palin: It's dangerous.

Couric: ... is naïve for supporting that?

Palin: I've never heard Henry Kissinger say, "Yeah, I'll meet with these leaders without preconditions being met." Diplomacy is about doing a lot of background work first and shoring up allies and positions and figuring out what sanctions perhaps could be implemented if things weren't gonna go right. That's part of diplomacy.

Actually. That's exactly Henry Kissinger's position. And Couric even went ahead and confirmed it with Kissinger after the interview. Here is what Kissinger said just last week at a forum of five secretaries of state.

"I'm in favor of negotiating with Iran. And one -- (unintelligible) -- of negotiation is to put before Iran our vision of a Middle East -- of a stable Middle East and our notion of nuclear proliferation at a high enough level so that they have to study it."

It's not only Kissinger's position. It is James Baker and Colin Powell's position as well. Here is what Powell said at the event.

Powell: "we should start to talk to them. Don't wait for a letter coming from them. Start discussion. We've been talking to them up through 2003." Asked whether we should "take the initiative?" Powell responded, "Yeah. We shouldn't we? What are we afraid of? We did."

But who cares what Kissinger, Powell and Baker think. Sarah Palin is running the country now...

She calls Kissinger naive? Well, about 4/5 of the planet's leaders would agree!

The Dems should be more careful what Palin-bashing spin they put out ... it will come back to bite them.

Yeah they line up with "gotcha questions" for Palin and then with Obama they toe the line with frivolous questions keeping on the Hope and Change mantra. Nursing him through quickly correcting if they perceive he strays....

Palin's preacher: Jews control the economy, that's causing all the corruption

KagroX from DKos discovered last night that a new video of Sarah Palin experiencing a laying of hands at her church in Wasilla shows Sarah Palin's preacher telling the congregation - with Palin present and about to join him on stage - how Christians need to take over control of the business world, especially banking, just like the Jews (Israelites) have done. He then goes on to say that the fact that non-Christians are running the banking industry is the cause of all of the recent scandals. Hmm... so, Palin's solution to the economic crisis, run the Jews into the sea?

I've excerpted the "Jews control the world" party of the video, then showed about a minute of the part where Palin comes up (which actually takes place a few minutes after the comments about Jews. Here's a transcript, and following that is the video:
The second area whereby God wants us, wants to penetrate in our society is in the economic area. The Bible says that the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous. It's high time that we have top Christian businessmen, businesswomen, bankers, you know, who are men and women of integrity running the economics of our nations. That's what we are waiting for. That's part and parcel of transformation. If you look at the -- you know -- if you look at the Israelites, that's how they work. And that's how they are, even today. When we will see that, you know, that the top transporters (?) in the lands, we see, you know, the bankers, we see the people holding the parts (?), they are believers, we will not have the kind of corruption that we are hearing in our societies.

OMG next he'll be claiming Jews spread aids among Christians

So why has the "liberal" media not brought any attention on Palin's preacher?

Israel

Hasn't in the Goverment of Israel somebody resigned do to rumors of
corruption? I think the Prime Minister

This clip comes from that same interview:

"Good guys. Bad guys." This woman is an idiot! And to think that she was prepped for weeks before this interview.

What really worries me is, considering that it is entirely possible that McCain's health is not going to last throughout his term in office, this cretin might well inherit the most powerful job in the world. Game over.

No spin necessary really. The woman is an idiot. Watching her interview with couric was like watching miss south carolina's painful attempt at answering a miss america question.

I would feel embarrassed for her if it wasn't for the fact that she is apparently VP material according to the GOP.

Pretty sad really.

Think about it for a second. If they bring up Palin's preacher it'll will also bring up Obama's Rev Wright. Undoing all their effort at sweeping him under the carpet :o

Iran should have some preconditions of its own. No reason the US should not also meet preconditions.

Her preacher will make Rev wright look like a saint, Obama does not associate himself with rev wright but she still belongs to her preachers church.

That clip and interview in general is pretty damning... Sarah Palin is an idiot. Katie Couric asked simple, straightforward and unbiased questions about some of the most pressing issues in the USA today and Palin somehow made a complete train wreck out of it. If that is the best Palin can do in a relatively tame setting, she is going to get humiliated on Thursday.

It should be interesting. Palin, in interviews (she's had 3, Biden has had 100+), seems to answer specific questions with a collection of soundbites randomly tacked together, without making sense or answering the question.

I'm waiting for the transcript of the interview. After all the chopping and editing of CBS interview to sucker you lemmings again I'd rather wait.

Oh and Obama has only done 1 or 2 interviews on FOX where he'll not get the helping hand to guide him through like he does on CBS, ABC or CNN

Oh yeah and Biden gaffes so far...

On Obama

I mean, you got the first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy

Clean?

You were asked: 'Is he ready?' You said, 'I think he can be ready, but right now I don't believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.'"

Eish Obama must have learnt a hell of a lot in the last few months then

“My impression is [Obama] thinks that if we leave, somehow the Iraqis are going to have an epiphany” of peaceful coexistence among warring sects. “I’ve seen zero evidence of that.”

Wow some sense

"Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified as I am.'Might Have Been a Better Pick Than Me'

Must be that inexperience...

you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent

Very PC

Chuck, stand up, let the people see you," Biden says

Chuck's paralysed you moron

"terrible"

Obama's add mocking McCain

Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened

TV in 1929. FDR president?

we are not supporting clean coal

That's not what Obama says

John McCain is a personal friend, a great friend, and I would be honored to run with or against John McCain, because I think the country would be better off, be well off no matter who...”

I’ve been calling for more troops for over two years, along with John McCain and others subsequent to my saying that.”

Hmmm who's VP is he again?

The guy is making Dubya look articulate and he's not even VP yet. I look forward to many more foot in mouth moments. :D
