No, I am not talking about the latest and much hyped fruity fashion craze, this is about a phone that will easily cost double the price off those phones - and then you get half to a quarter of the storage space. Plus added to that an OLED display that will probably last 6 years max. Sound like a dud deal ? Read on…

What I am talking about here is the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte. Now when you see a Nokia 8xxx range phone it you need to adjust your mindset a little. These phones are all about exclusivity - that is why they are overpriced as hell and they are technically challenged. What you do get is a phone that is made from precious materials like titanium and carbon fiber and is as sleek and sexy as they come.

So then, the aim with this phone is clear. If you want a phone that is very exclusive and very sexy, on a level far beyond iWannabees, there is no substitute for this insanely sexy, outrageously priced, 8800 Carbon Arte. Except Vertu perhaps…

So will you get one ? I won't - but I will still drool while looking at the pictures and reviews of it. In a world of hot hatches and M3s - this is the Veyron you look at in magazines.

Ive had the 8800 and the 8800 Sirocco.
Its really just a 6234 in expensive clothing. A waste of money imo.
I like the idea of it being exclusive, but I also want features.
3G is already a no go, minimum HSDPA.
Has to multitask ie no S40!!
GPS

It just doesnt work for me. Rather get a White HTC Touch Diamond!:p

You are absolutely right. I guess that is why the review concludes with :
The looks and the feel of this phone are awesome and you can bet attention has been paid to every detail. Even if you tried really hard there is barely a thing you can complain about as far as design and construction is concerned. We doubt it tech-freaks will get a kick of those sleek curves but they were never meant to be the target of Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte.

At this stage Nokia is the unchallenged sovereign of this niche.
