Cars Limited To 160km/h by 2013

Oh well, my Fiat Palio 1.2 EL is already limited to 160, needs to be on a very level or slightly going down hill road :)

- Top Speed is 164 according to Car Magazine.

Bad joke I always tell.. my car also has a turbo button. Except it works the other way around, its when the button is out when it works and instead of it saying turbo it says A/C lol :)

exported German cars including performance cars except porsche are limited to 250km/h because people who dont know how to drive of speeds above that have a higher rate of crashing.. although if you buy any of these cars in germany they are not limited couse mostley all german licenced drivers are trained to drive at high speeds (I.E Autobahn)

did you guys know that that the BMW Z4 has a limited speed, can't remember what it is but yes it has a high speed...

250km/h ... so is the 335i, all ///M models, i think the 330i, 550i, 650i etc etc etc ... a lot of beemers are capable of 250km/h plus ... i think the true top speed of the M5 and M6 is around the 330km/h mark ... German cars in SA are governed to 250km/h ... except P cars

thing is .... do it like Nissan has done it with their GTR-35, as soon as the cars gps picks up you on a race track it disables the speed governor on the car ...

Somebody's been watching Top Gear :D

I think that functionality is limited to Japan at the moment though.

That I could live with....

Imagine it going one step further and the limiter uses the GPS to check the speed limit of the road you are on and limits your car accordingly!! No more speeding, no more road rage! :)

funny thing is there not doing this to save lives, there enforcing it for CO2 emissions regulations but it problebly works both ways

The M5 and M6 are a little slower than 330 (without speed limiter)..... :)

This was bound to happen some time... I finally agree with you on something :)

This is only good for broke losers who can't afford decent cars capable of 250+ km/h :D

Some of us will be using our cars on the track...

Would only work on modern cars, not Unos and whatever else doesn't have PCs in their engines.
