Shame on Audi & VW dealerships for writing cars off and refusing to compensate the customer. They even hired people to go take back a loan car when the customer refused to return it without them sorting out his car. Customer was threatened in front of his child. No more Audi/VW for me, buying a BMW instead. When I service my new car (335i coupe hopefully) I'll take the day off and spend it at the dealership.

The owner of the crashed Audi RS4 was never reimbursed BTW. He said that he has to fork out R100k because of the write off

Ja, I'm on the side of the Audi owner whose car was written off.

By and by, what's the story with the Jeep owner? Did he caught the dealership's technicians overspeeding with his jeep?

Ya crazy what goes on at the dealerships when you send your beloved for a service. I will stick with my jalope for now. :-)

Yup, its not only the dealerships, the factorys also guilty. You should see what goes on at the MB factory with brand new AMG's.

Regarding the written off RS4 the owner was offered a replacement vehicle of the same year, similar mileage and similar condition which he declined, fair enough. He chose to claim from his insurance and was paid out less 15% excess which the dealership reimbursed him for (100k). The technician who crashed the vehicle was dismissed.

He has issue with the inconvenience of it all but with all due respect I think the dealer has done what they could and Ted is being a bit of a prat.

The new but faulty Audi from Audi Braamfontein; If Braamfontein Audi cannot sort the fault out after 3 attempts then yes, one would expect them to replace the vehicle with a new one considering the faulty vehicle was a brand new one. All the buyer wanted was a written acknowledgement that should his new vehicle not be repaired they would replace it and they refused the letter and sent bouncers over to collect the loan vehicle, this from a customer who has spent R2.5m with them. That's ridiculous!!! Surely he is entitled to a new vehicle if the fault were to persist??!!!!! Crazy stuff there...

Hmmm you can't deny that VW make really solid cars though.

I know someone who bought a passat and had trouble right from the start - it spent forever going back to the dealer and they had to really threaten to get a loan vehicle... no thanks.
The cars are fine, but the dealers are poor.

You can be a fanboi all you want but these VW & Audi dealerships have let their respective brands down. I've deliberately excluded the Jeep dealership because it was one incident. One of the VW dealerships wrote off a Golf 4 1.6 FFS :mad:

The Audi Braamfontein one really shocked me. The dude obviously has a thing for Audi, having bought a Q7 AND an R8, and they choose to screw him around on a A4. Anyway, I'm sure BMW/Merc would love to have the dude as a valued customer. He certainly has the money.

Ooh, that Jeep SUV can move! Up to 217Km/h! Disciplinary hearing my ass, he should be fired on the spot.

Friends ..

"Pieter de Necker Service Manager 082 *** ***7 "

This is the Gentleman i spoke to , very honest indeed ,
he says the crash did happen, car was at his garage and the technician did write it off.
i didnt ask him if they were racing a gti or what , but the botttom line is , according to him that they will replace the customer with a brand new one , he also says that its not a problem to get a brand new one even though its discontinued.

there you have it folks ..

i spoke to the service manager and he told me that audi will give the rs4 customer a brand new car , now they change their tunes.
pathetic.

To be fair Carte Blanche reported that he would get a 2nd hand RS4 similar to the one written off. The dealer principle should have met with Carte Blanche to clear their name. The fact that they didn't doesn't impress me either...

Accidents happen. If you consider the number of vehicles going through the dealerships daily it's not surprising but what is unacceptable is that some of these dealerships don't have insurance and the way the customer, now car less is handled, leaves much to be desired. I doubt it's any better with any of the other brands with the exception of maybe BMW who seem to always offer impeccable service...

Audi SAG do audits on the dealerships in SA. Saw the Germans going through the dealership in Menlyn, while waiting for the car. Wonder if they know about these happenings? Maybe people should call up the head office to spur the locals into action?

Due to poor service from VWSA and the dealer, I also had to leave VW for BMW. BMW after sales service has been such a pleasure.

Is there anywhere one can watch that insert online? It's not on dstvbroadband yet...

i would also like to watch it, do they have a repeat on dstv ?

i think vw offers good service ,so il stick with them.
i always take down the mileage when i leave my car there and check that it hasnt done more than 15km .

it should be available on demand soon if you a have a dstv pvr
