Brutal attack in Pretoria

A Pretoria woman was hacked to death and her domestic worker seriously injured in what has been described by police as one of the Pretoria's most brutal murders yet.

Rashida Ahmed, 49, was at her home in Laudium on Monday when two men forced their way inside.

Locking themselves inside the house, the men, who are believed to have been armed with a spade and a panga, overpowered Ahmed's domestic worker, Sara Malatji, before they attacked Ahmed, who was in her bedroom.

Police sources say the men, over the period of about an hour, repeatedly hit Ahmed over the head, shoulders neck and chest as they dragged her around the house demanding money. The house was ransacked by the killers, including the ceiling, of which the hatch was discovered open.

I really wish we had the death penalty:( Or maybe a system where you are killed in the same manner that you killed your victim. But all of that involves catching the perpetrators first and we all know how that goes:rolleyes:

And did you hear the news this am? Young girl writing exams, went for a walk, drugged, tied up, raped and slashed with a knife. My god this country is a war zone.

Absolute barbarians running the streets.

Heard this on the news the crime is really getting out of hand and there just seems like no one is doing anything about it.

I live in the same community as the lady and all I can say is that we are sick and tired of this sh|t now! Our local paper is full of stories of crime but this one really is digusting.

the senseless barbarism that goes along with the crime these days is what I just can't fathom ... someone once mentioned that criminals in Africa don't have a conscience, I can see now why they said that.

If I caught someone like that in such an act.... I wouldn't really do it but let's just say they would have a hard time digesting that spade....

Read that some of the locals (about 50 of them) threatened to take vigilante(sp?) justice.

FFS the world is crazy, she was an old woman!!!:(

Maybe the self protection units had the right idea. It is high time we take back the streets from the animals that have robbed us of our right to security. You can basically do whatever the hell you like and be assured you will get away with it.

This was my brother-in-laws best friends mother, very very disturbing indeed.

I must point out that ANC won over 93% of votes (provincial) in Laudium. Does it come down to this for people to realise that they are voting for rapists, murderers and thieves ?

This is the time they can make a change.

Geez, stories like these make me want to get my leaving papers in order and go to a safer place. I love SA and the people (most anyway), but stories like these make me fear for my families lives, sigh....why should we live in fear, we have a right to life and security!!!!

Anything anyone says, will make no difference, its only what people do that will make a difference.

Currently the criminals are doing all the "Do's".

Anarchy.

I am really getting used to the idea of vigilante justice, how the hell do these barbarians live with themselves after doing something like this.
