Hey guys,
How would you rate the above and what price would you expect to pay?

lol i just got basically the same system on Monday, what gpu are you going to be using ?

Psu is weak rather go with an Antec or the higher end Gigabyte psu's

Get 3 gig ram for tripple channel as it apparently is better than dual channel.

Just the board, cpu and ram cost me just over 10k

For ocing a new cooler will definetly be required

Still playing with the system so lots still to learn about it :)

No I'm not actually buying this now... Was just curious what the performance on a machine like this would be.
PC Zone will be stocking this system for R8999

lol no way they can be so cheap for a full system unless they are counting on the Dollar weakening :p

Especially since you have to add a gpu to the cost as well

well that exact system is going into their ad this Sunday, so yeah, that's the price...
I take it this is a good price then?

Not a bad price, but according to Guru3D the gaming benefits of Core i7 only really appears when running a high-end (tri SLI and the like) setup. So no Core i7 for me :(

hmmm... that's true...
I don't have any experience here so maybe QX6700RULZ can comment since I think he's more knowledgeable here

The PSU might be enough for the as-is system, but will it still be once you plug in a decent VGA card? What case does it come with? And does this case support enough fans for when you add the extra meat?

Many things should be considered when you can pick up a bargain such as this. However, it IS a bargain :)

Yup it's a good price.
The PSU depends on what card(s) you wanna get, but yeah, I think a bigger PSU would be a safer bet (460w at least, I reckon)

The case is some gaming Aopen chassis - all I know is it has a built-in thermoreader, don't have any personal experience with it myself.
