Good to see them bringing some innovative services into the market, but as Rouxenator mentioned, what about data? Top Up airtime can't be used towards data bundles [yet], unlike Vodacom.

I currently pay R1.95 for MTN to another Network. MTN Zone wants R3.00

Nah, the contract guys are still better off anyway. On the MTN Zone, the call rates are high then they give you a discount, and you still end up paying more than on contract.
