We've managed to confirm that XFX will join the ATI camp at the start of the new year. XFX won't drop Nvidia products, either, but obviously, Nvidia won't be thrilled by this turn of events.

There's been a lot of talk of Nvidia partner defections and reshuffles in recent months, and some have already gone red. XFX is just following the trend and leaving Nvidia in a rather awkward situation of having just a single powerful Nvidia exclusive partner - EVGA.

We can't say we're surprised; after all, we've reported about strains in Nvidia-AIB partner relations on many occasions. Low margins, the lack of competitive products in several market segments, coupled with the economic slowdown which is exascerbating the situation further, are obviously pushing Nvidia AIBs to embrace ATI.

We will try to find out more and see how Nvidia reacts to this latest development, so stay tuned.

hmm... Looks like the ATI/AMD Merger is showing some positive results - they must be doing something right. :o

very interesting....I've always had a soft spot for XFX products....not sure why

I am not sure why XFX is silly enough to only sell nvidia, XFX is well known and ATI or Nvidia cards sold by them would do well. I don't think this is a sign of nvidia failing i think its a sign of these companies wanting to make more money and no doubt selling ATI would bring them that.

I think its deeper than that. Keep in mind that ATI and AMD is working together on something revolutionary... you'd be stupid not to be part of that. :)

ye... honestly, amd are a clever bunch when it comes to innovation... I think XFX might just have heard from a little birdy what's coming down the pipeline... but with the tremendous success of the HD4000 series, i think most companies are thinking AMD gpu's are the way to go...

Now, all amd's gotta do is catch a wake up and get there cpu's firing off at intel... but i just go the feeling that AMD might be focussing on gpu's for a reason... there sudden release of the ATI stream, and the fact that they going to make a CPU+GPU within the next year(or 1.5 years) might mean they going along with the idea that it would be best to have a gpu that does cpu calculations and start dropping off the whole seperate cpu desing(this makes for a faster system as the data doesn't have to tavelle very far). this might explain why lange manufacturing companies are going AMD as well...

but it could just be that with this gobal recession, companies need to make ends meet and supporting AMD is just an easy way out

Fudzilla FTW!

Imo I don't see any reason why XFX would Not want to sell ATI products. XFX has a good name and ATI products under their name could do even better.

although, i'm not sure how well a green logo is gonna fit on a red card....

but seriously though, xfx make good cards and If I have more choice on my next ATI Purchase, awesome.

Maybe they will get a new red logo for the ATI cards?!?! :D
