New WoW Retail player

Hi..
Im gonna buy WoW retail, and will be sharing the Account user and PW with my brother (Same PC). There is NO way i'm buying 2 wow copies, rofl. Can each have its own character, or is there a Limit? What is a good realm to start on with decent latency?? Can I have characters on different realms?

You can have different chars on different realms max is 10 per realm, you cannot have horde and alliance on the same realm. You can share an account i do with my gf, thou i have two accounts. I play on ravenholdt with unshaped webafrica 2048 and i get 220-280ms which is pretty much the best you will get in south africa.

You can have multiple characters on different realms

You cannot have a horde and an alliance character on the same realm

Whats a good realm to start on? Depends on what you want (Meet Saffers, work towards getting into a imba harcore guild etc.)

Thats is applicable to PvP realms ONLY. You can have Horde and Alliance on the same PvE server.

You can have 10 per server, and max 50 in total across all realms
 
Ups, too many mistakes on my part. My humblest apologies! It is 10 per realm and I didn't know about the PvE realms part (as I have not played on a PvE server)

Worth it? Depends what you like I suppose. There are guys on this forum that have played for around 4years.

Have you ever played any other MMORPG's?

Well I have played WoW before on 'private' server:o.. (swak of me, I know). I really enjoyed the game there, so I guess its going to be even better on retail. How long does it take the average WoW player to level to 70??? I guess its a couple of months?

My first char took about 20 days player aka 20x24 hours

My latest (Lock) is on 14 days played and almost level 80 now standing on level 78.

If you play to reach end game and not mess around doing other things (Which you should be doing, don't race) you should do it in about a month with playing about 8 hours a day. Maybe little more.

If you like it on a Private server, you will be blown out of the water on the legit realms ;)
 
As Pit says, if you enjoyed a pirate server, you will thoroughly love the official servers. So much to do and so many other players to interact with.
 
Go to the WoW EU site and look for the recommended realms. There where a few new realms created recently. Do not start on one of the established realms unless you have some really good friends there, or else you will be very dissapointed.

I strongly recommend that you buy the 2nd account and level WITH your brother. Okay. you got 1 pc??. The reason I say this is that main point about this game is leveling and raiding with others. Especially while leveling, its so much easier in duo, especially on a pvp server.

Cool... then I cant wait to GO retail :D
 
One more thing, if you do decide to get another PC or play on 2 PC's or whatever, to play together, only 1 of you can log in at a time =/

I knew that..;)
Its bad though. Well the LAG will propobly also be sky high if 2 players are playing using the same internet connecton.

I have had two players on a 384 DSL line with no real problems.

It really is better to get two accounts because two people levelling together is lots of fun and waiting for someone to finish playing so you can have a turn is a real pain in the ass.

Its not that expensive when you see what you get, always new content and fixes. It works out. Works to about 600 every 2 months or so for two accounts. Yes it sounds steep. But it isnt really unless you working on a student budget then its a different story.
