Enter your Downstream attenuation (dB) 25
Cable Loss (dB/km) – Default 13.81
Attainable Rate (ADSL1) – kbit/s 8000
Attainable Rate (ADSL2) – kbit/s 18174
Distance to exchange (Meters) 1810

Sorry guys....where can I find this information in my router (I also have one of the Mecer 4 port adsl routers)...?

That wasn't the information from my router in the post....I wanted to know where do I find it in the router itself:o (I have tried to look but I can't seem to find it.....)
The only figure you need is the downstream attenuation. Not sure where to find it on a Mecer router though. Poke at all the menus and sub-menus until something hopefully crops up.
As a matter of interest...what your thoughts on this....

Netgear is good but in my experience there are too many firmware updates, most of which are buggy. I'd recommend a Billion 7300N - I have a 7300G but I got the gf a 7300N and it has the same functionality except the signal strength is far stronger. And it supports the new 802.11n standard and proper half-bridge (which Netgear claims to support on v4 of the router you linked to, but the firmware doesn't allow you to use it. The newer v5 that you're more likely to buy doesn't support it at all. In fact only the older v3 supported it, so they've actually gone backwards).

Lol...I have but haven't been able to find anything.

The billion seems nice but at almost twice the price I will have to pass....

Go for the 7300G then. About the same signal strength as the Netgear and also supports half-bridge. The only difference between it and a 7300N is wireless strength and support for 802.11n. Not sure what the price would be, but I paid around R800 for mine.
