Vodacom VPN Setup

I'm trying to connect to Windows XP using VPN. "Server" is connected to Linksys Wireless-G Router (3G). Forwarding on ports 500 & 1723. Internetvpn has been enabled on both 3g cards and APN settings manually configured on them, (allthough we plan to use five incoming connections, not simultaniously). Went as far as to register Dynamic DNS domain. On the client side, on a e220 usb 3g modem, I have a choice of XP VPN client / Cisco VPN Client version 4.05. Peer keeps timing out and Vodacom suggests unrestricted APN as they cannot get internet VPN to function. Techie was onsite.:
 
Not sure if you're telling us something or asking something?

The internet APN will handle the majority of VPN clients, but to be 100% sure, try the unrestricted APN.
 
If you are setting up a VPN between two 3G connections then you need the unrestricted APN in order to allow unsolicited inbound connections.

mmm ok. I thought it was mainly due to NAT issues that internetvpn was needed.

Big reason, but some VPN clients expect certain ports to be open, so these were opened on the internetvpn APN.

When we got the routable IP's on the internet APN, we decided to start de-commissioning the internetvpn APN and gave the internet APN the same features.
