Apple's Safari borrows from Google

I hear it is really fast... at least the Beta version is. Four times faster than Firefox and thirty times faster than IE. We'll see. I don't use Safari much cos Firefox does it for me and Safari crashed a few times. I also don't like Apple's in your face update methods.

the thing most users will notice first is the similarities between Safari and Google's Chrome browser.
Maybe because they're both based on Webkit?

So when will Firefox get their "V8" Java Script engine? Since Google and Firefox sip coffee at the same table on a regular basis.

And Google borrows from Safari's webkit... see, open source development has its benefits.

Peter would "LOVE" it. So Microsoft may now be excused for being "Competetive". Even Apple reconize there is better "options" to "borrow" out there.

Apple says the new engine makes Safari 4 more than three times faster than Firefox and multiples of ten faster than Internet Explorer 7. Against Internet Explorer 8, however, the differential is not so obvious

Firefox's main advantage is addons - as a web developer, I use about 4 addons all the time, and as a regular internet user, I use about 5 other ones... no browser without Adblock Plus will get any love from me ;)

Tried Safari Beta 4, and I must say, it looks really good, and feels very fast - but once again, without extensions it won't get as much attention...

Safari has extensions

Do I have to go deep into to africa to get this "safari"? Is it dry? Can I drink it? I heard cider is made from apple?

The S60 browser for Symbian OS is also based on Webkit, and also support for jQuery is still ongoing
They have it n the HVGA Series40 FP6 phones also.

apple is the self righteous pretentious aunt of the IT family
+1 and so are apple users. I can name a big fat one right off the top of my [-]screen[/-] head .

Thats why google came out with Chrome. AdBlock costing them dearly.

I Love AdBlock! :D

I have AdBlock so configured that most of the time only text comes down the line. Save myself some $$$$'s
