Expansys ZA delaying refund, messing up order, not answering phones, rude & unhelful

I ordered a new phone from Expansys.co.za. The price sounded good and the colour wasn't easily available in SA.

I asked the guys at the company for information about whether the phone was new and they said it was, but that the box wasn't sealed. This worried me a lot because how do we know it wasn't a demonstration version or bought off e-bay? They said they were a big listed company and I shouldn't worry.

I paid the cash directly into their bank account on a Friday morning, and expected them to process it as soon as they got it, as they claim on their website ("processed if order placed before 4pm"). However, Expansys only started looking at my order the following week.

Their website also promises you can track your order online, which doesn't work. You have to ring them, but they also don't answer the phone. I tried on Friday and nobody bothered to pick up.

I didn't hear anything until about a week later when they said it had arrived. In the next breath they said it was a different colour, asking me if I wanted that one! I was furious and said no. They didn't seem very sorry at all. I had asked someone to wait at home in case it arrived and had spent time phoning them, now all that was wasted!

The two guys I spoke to were very unhelpful and refused to give me their surnames, even though they claimed to be directors. They made a lot of promises about sending me information about what went wrong with the order, but they didn't do it. They spun some yarn about sourcing the phone locally to get it to me quicker, but two people told me different stories and the phone changed colour three times, so make your own mind up.:eek:

I'm still waiting for the refund, even after they said it would be processed on Friday last. It looks like they don't do work on Friday, because they told me they only started refunding on Monday.

I still don't have the money. They've also refused compensation because they claim they were still within their 10 day promise. (I still can't get my head around that explanation :confused:). In fact their promise was 7-10 days.

It looks like this outfit is just a disorganised processing and packing office for the UK branch. They have no idea of customer service. They also keep their computers turned off and you have to wait for them to log in.

I should have been alerted when I first spoke to these guys and when they were very defensive in general about things. You know when people get a lot of complaints, they develop that blase attitude and you can hear it in their voice.

When the order went wrong they said they were a new expanding company that were small and trying their best, which doesn't fit with what they told me when I first ordered.

I would strongly advise you not to deal with Expansys.co.za.
 
I also had rather unfriendly service from this bunch. Ordered a memory card for my SE phone, which was listed as being "in stock". 12 days later (actually 18, if you include the weekends), I mailed again to ask and was informed that the card had just arrived, so I drove to their offices to collect it. The young twit who "assisted" me, was rather snide too, as if I was interrupting his WoW fix.
 
Okay i am now officially worried...i placed an order with them two weeks ago,for some cellphone accessories,i hope i get it !
 
The less said about Expansys the better, i got an email on tues saying that they have cancelled my order after waiting for a month because apparently i hadnt paid which is bull because i called the numerous times just to confirm that they had reserved the payment to my CC which was confirmed and i was told that the payment wiould be then be released to them once they have got shipment of my order..........Shocking service.:mad:

Even funnier than your guys situation is that when i went to collect my order, i checked the price of the item on the website, it had gone down by R200.00 from the time i ordered it. i never asked to take it at that price, but they clearly got the stock where my item came out of with their new price (i had to wait over a month)... oh well.. i guess thats all my fault for not mentioning anything...

Plus, when i went there to get my item, i felt a bit of edgyness from the guy that helped me.. .like "you the **** who bad mouths us"... but glad that is all over, and they can keep the change they didnt have for me when i brought them cash... never ever will i deal with them again.. i'd rather pay more for good service, communication, and order/delivery times.

Ouch, there goes their credibility. Thanks for the warning. What about their "At Expansys we do not charge your card until we ship the goods"?

I wouldn't trust that lot with my c/c details. Direct EFT to their account, or cash.
 
Worst thing is:

I was at the Digital Expo in Sandton, speaking to them..

They treat a person like an absolute retard.
Worse, it was a bunch of pimple littered kids who were manning the station!!

Agree 100%. They don't seem to be bothered about customer service, which is a real pity

My impression as well.
I complained to them via the complaints e-mail and this is an extract:

ME: The ordering system was not able to track the order and the staff at Expansys SA regularly do not answer their phones. My order was not placed on Friday, despite promises on the website so to do. In fact little work appears to be done on a Friday.

EXPANSYS:"...the tracking page works 100%. It clearly communicates to contact us via e-mail or telephonically to track your order. The website makes no promises whatsoever in terms of order tracking, please do not make false statements."

The FACTS:
Their website supposedly has an order tracking system which you can access here: http://www.expansys.co.za/tracking.aspx

When you place an order you get an e-mail which says: "To see the status of your order at any time please visit this URL: hxxp://www.expansys.co.za/tracking.aspx?ref=xxxxxxxxxxx&passcode=xxxxxxxx"


However that link just tells you:"Please contact [email protected] for order tracking information". It also includes a phone number and other details.

So who's lying?
 
hehehe... thats funny... so in their terms it "works" cause it directs you to call them, BUT, when you call them they dont pick up... hahahaha.
 
Someone needs to point Expansys to this site, so that they can wakeup to their own bad rep
