They should have a serious and deep look at their customer service going forth.
After being an MTN customer for close to 8 years, due to really bad customer service experience I have vowed that I will not renew a contract with MTN.
Story goes like this, after my contract was up for renewal, I have spend close to 5 months trying to renew my contract, (actually get what I wanted for the money spend) finally I lost my patience and scaled down from the business contract to most basic one month to month.
Fast forward 28 months, with all the new phones on the market now I was lured into the MTN customer service center with intention to buy whatever they where willing/able to sell.
What i found my self in though, was same situation as 28 months ago, utter disaster and disappointment that seen me walking out of MNT coustomer center empty handed and fuming.
Key points of my bad experience (second time around)
* Sale person had no clue abut products he was suppose to sell
** When asked about data bundles, carry over, and how many bundles one can load per month. Although there has been wide media coverage about new structure of the data bundles and how they operate, He continued to insist that carry over and multiple bundles loading is not available, even when I opened up MTN brochure that he handed me (most current one) with full page advertisement listing key point of the service.
* There was no stock available on any phone from the current month promotions. He could place order though "but it will take 2 weeks" he informed me.
** Having gone trough 5 months of "it will be here in two weeks", I asked with cynicism "is there anything you can actually sell me right now"... to which he replied " I can phone another branch but you will have to go fetch your self".
So MTN take note, it is surprising how you can actually sign up 100 million subscribers when you have misinformed sales personel, no stock and no interest in actually making money out of your current consumer base...
Enough said.
