I would like to invite everyone share their :

1. Call waiting times
2. Email response times
3. Account Activation times
4. Frequency of support needed( and reason for frequency)
5. Automatic service notifications, or any for that matter

I will kick the thread off by listing my own experiences with my current ISP.

Isp Name:
Axxess

1. Average Call waiting time: +- 20secs
2. Never emailed them
3. From time to signup, Credit Card = instant, EFT = 2 - 5 minutes
4. I hardly ever need support, if I need I can rely on 24/7 support
5. Auto Sms / email notifications , can be disabled. Gives information on usage, Account active/inactive and can also be used to send account details

Vitality Broadband:

1. Almost none, answering machine picks up, tells me I've reached Vitality, then a technician picks up, very first world.
2.Never emailed them, however I get an email from them after I've finished the call explaining what the problem was, and the resolution, with a ref num.
3. Using a Credit Card, instant. Using EFT takes 24 hours, but if you have a Voucher from EFT, instant.
4. Very Reliable, most of the times I called was because I forgot my passwords. 24/7 KNOWLEDGEABLE Support. The Tech's are clued up.
5. No Emails/SMS'es... but they have a very intuitive control panel.
6. AND THEY ARE THE CHEAPEST ISP IN THE COUNTRY! :p

Cybersmart Oneprice 384 ADSL

1. Between 5 and 40 minutes
2. 48 to 60 hours
3. With me the next day
4. Without a doubt the "once a month for port reset" request. Other than that they seem to suffer from the "usual" *um* Telkom caused outages ever so often.
5. Nope. None thus far except bandwidth usage notifications. Mostly a recorded message on the help desk number if there are Telkom problems.

FNB Connect

1. Average Call waiting time: +- 10secs (having to press a few buttons to speak with support agent though)
2. Within an hour
3. From time to signup, instant
4. I hardly ever need support, (besides backhaul ISP drama's)
5. Auto Sms / email notifications , can be disabled.

Impressed with connectivity, so called "IS unshaped"

Actually FNB Connect make use of their main network, which has uplinks to SAIX,IS and Verizon. Most of the time their traffic goes over SAIX.

Axxess (Semi-shaped)
1. Under 2 minutes
2. Never had to email
3. Instant (credit card and prepaid vouchers)
4. About twice a month to enquire why there is some latency (usually IS's fault).
5. SMS alerts on cap which is extremely awesome.

Openweb (VPN product)
1. Long or not at all. Goes to voicemail sometimes which never saw a reply.
2. Decent.
3. A delay if I remember correctly.
4. Often (every day or 2 for 3 months) or twice a week +
5. None

How can this ISP be added to the list of "The Best ISP" For Reliability and Support! - this is not a brag thread.

To choose the best support, you also have to know who not to choose. So I would think it is part of it....

+1 for bad service at Openweb

1. No waiting time, always instantly answered
2. Within 10 minutes
3. Instant
4. twice every 4 or 5 months.
5. Email.

Been with them for a long time, and am very happy!

You must be phoning them on a red telephone like they have for the american president. I am very sure that if you post the number you use, the moderators will make it a sticky.lol

What is the point of this thread if I am not allowed to post my opinion. Are you going to bash everyone who posts an opinion just because you don't like the ISP.

In that case, this is a pointless thread.

I used to phone Keoma on his cellphone - thats how much I had to phone. It's awesome having the owner of a CEO say good morning to you by name :P

And no, I won't give out the number. Keoma is awesome and I would not like to place the burden of all his customers on him as he is a very busy guy.

Keoma's a great guy on the phone...but to get a problem sorted out...takes typing...

Try it...doesn't work...answers that I could pick out of a "How to bull**** others and claim to be a friend...book...

I just smacked a f***ing friend...a psychopath in training...tonight...want me to listen to some more..."I'm your friend!" ****....

here's a thought... Let's torture people that rip us off...slowly... very painfully... years...not days...

Oops, service delivery picks up...not good enough...More pain...is all that is needed...
