GPU-nvdia gts250 1 gb -R1850 or Amd 4870 -R1900
PSU-Vantec Ion2+A 550 W (its 80 plus and cheap with 40 amps on 12 v rails ) -R739

Any suggestions ? Comments ? the pc is mainly for gaming , but also video editing and transcoding and of course work :( .I am on a budget and dont want to spend more than i am allready.

Part 2

Should i wait for DirectX 11 Gpu's to come out , will they be affordable ,or will current gen gfx cope ?

Thanx in advance

Do you remember what DX10 was like when it first came out? Exactly... so rather get a DX10 graphics card and wait until DX11 has enough games that support it.
RAM: Unless you can get 1066 for marginally more than 800, rather get 800 as there is not much of a performance increase.
I'd suggest that you maybe get like a Logitech G5 or G7 mouse? It's an awesome mouse and is perfect for every use.

i took a look at the g5 and g7 and have only heard good things about them , but i cant find their measurements online so i dont know their size ( i have big hands so a nice big mouse is what i need)

Nice rig.. but maybe go for a GTX 260/ HD 4870 1GB instead :)

They are quite "spacious". It's almost a one size fits all, seeing as it allows me to keep my whole hand on the thing, to limit friction whilst playing.

im gonna have to try one out in store , FROOT could you tell me the length of your mouse ( i take its a G5 )
ill have to see on 260 , damn budget !!!

Just get a 4870 or Xfire some 4850s, dx11 is so far out of the picture and not really worth thinking about right now.

Besides you'll still be able to sell off the 4870 when a decent DX11 comes along.

thing is, the DX 11 cards are gonna be monsters, so if you wait a bit they should be able to obliterate the current gen cards :)!

DX11 cards are only releasing sometime at the end of the year (from ATI afaik), I highly doubt they'll be able to make much of an impact, being First-Gen and all. Although we might see some DX11 games faster than when DX10 came out.

As a rule I always skip first-gen, to allow the tech to sort itself out.

oh yeah, know about them, but they out of stock

The 4870 1gig is also at prophecy for R2400.

How did that work out for you with the first dx10 cards? I'm pretty sure the 8800 gave the biggest performance jump ever.

Also the 9800 is an 8800.

So why do you have this rule again?

I'd say get a dx10.1 card as quite a few features of dx11 will be backwards compatible.

There's nothing wrong with force3d, that freezer cooler is one of the best on the market.

wow so jury seems to be split on the graphics card :) but looks like the ATI cards are best bet , BTW saw a review for the cooler of the force3d cards it scored really high for good OC'ing . but other than the GFX and mouse is everything else a good choice ?
thanks for the help so far everyone
