Telkom slates current mobile services

Maybe telkom should work on impoving its current services before accusing mobile networks of poor quality of service.

wtf? So telkom is blamming themselves for this "congestion" on the mobile networks? Statting how terrible they are at supplying a backhaul service? And saying "hey we just want to tell you that we suck lama balls?" WTF WTF WTF? What an fricken joke for a company. Local loop unbundling cant come faster

the termination of the Vodafone shareholders agreement provides it with the opportunity to enter the mobile market.
I forgot about that.

This should be interesting, picture it ... Sicily 1002 AD (:D) :

Telkom .. your Cellular network provider, now with automatic switch to landline facilites when at home.

Please try to remember that Vodacom and MTN have been able to self-provide for themselves for freaking ages already.
This excuse that they have to use Telkom infrastructure no longer holds any water.

Spreading FUD in order to welcome scared mobile users into their welcoming arms?
Shouldn't they be focussing on their fixed line network? Considering that they are the only provider of true fixed line access, I can't comprehend why they would want to enter a already competitive mobile market. Mobile is not going to be the cure for their poor decisions with their fixed line business.

Personally I feel that if they want to start focussing on mobile, they should just drop fix line, and offer the license (and infrastructure) to somebody who are willing to build it into the first world network it should be.

Erm ... 19c a MB .. erm ... 60c an SMS ... erm ... over a rand a minute for a call.

DAMN, even I want a piece of that pie.

They are killing their own product by their limitations...

I looked into a mobile data solution, just yesterday - just to compare pricing to ADSL...

They told me:
R 489
512 Kbps max?
3 GB package
NO topup
30c/MB out of bundle...

Also NO soft cap like DO packages and NO 30 GB local free :(

So close and yet so far!....

Have you been into a Telkom shop lately?

Telkom can't congest their networks cos they can't provide service fast enough! :D
Is that worse than having you sign up and over-congesting the entire network like Neotel does?
I'm not too sure about that one, but ... yes, their service installation time seems to be shocking.

You're not comparing apples with apples.
A comparison with a 3G/HSDPA service would be more aligned.

Isn't it like 21 days for a Telkom ADSL installation?

Seriously, WTF??? Telkom is still clinging on to their days as a monopoly and where they told the customer how things will be done.

I just want Telkom to go bankrupt and die.

LLU should happen, quick-quick.

I would rather use a more expensive service from Vodacom/MTN should their services become more expensive than Telkom's mobile service in the future. Why? Because karma isn't friendly and I want to be a part of making it bite Telkom in its fat behind.
