When does AARTO's demerit system kick in officially?

It has already kicked off but it's in pilot phase so demerits wont be deducted as yet until the trial run is over with. They have not specified when this will be. Probably towards the end of the year though.
 
The other day I was trying to get used to driving a lot with the cruise control activated. Would not want lose points on silly speeding tickets. :o
 
AARTO website not working

The AARTO website seems to be offline. I received an email and did some research. This is what I could find about this topic:

It looks like there is a pilot in Johannesburg and Tshwane. The official start will be November 2010. They say drivers won't be penalised.. I am not sure if the points people get in the pilot will carried forward in 2010. That doesn't still seem clear to me from the AARTO press release on the RTMC website..
 
I haven't received any of the notifications as per the AARTO website, and i was supposedly caught not stopping at a stop street in March :confused:
 
LOL. Looks like they forgot to pay for the aarto.co.za domain, and now look at the new owners! :D
