Telkom workers set to strike

I'm aware that a lot of skilled Telkom workers get paid a pittance. So the strike doesn't surprise me in the least. But I love how it's turning into strike season in ZA... Should probably invite tourists to see the native striker in its natural habitat.

I feel sorry for anyone with a line problem this month. May the Telefates watch over us all :(

I really cant help wondering if this strike will really only last two days... it seems too good to be true.

/me gets back to boycotting Telkom while using their copper :p
 
This is yearly strike season in SA.. always has been.. and until the unions get their asses handed to them, always will be.
 
Feels like it's been strike season for over a year now... Maybe 2yrs in fact... So is there an IT workers union?
 
FFS can they please not stike in the JHB CBD!!!! IT IS BECOMING A MISSION TO GET TO WORK WHEN THESE GUYS STRIKE!!!!!
 
Telkom CEO: ''HUH? there is a strike, hmm well every thing is running fine and dandy with out them. Hey strikers, your fire!''

Now he can make even MOAR, money and every one is happy because he can keep his rip off prices the same. Wonder if Vodacoms x ceo still have shares in telkom... /me Ponders.
 
Yeah I was thinking the council workers, security guards, construction workers can all go on strike for a week and it doesn't make much diff. Can you imagine if everyone in IT went on strike for a week?
 
For F**k Sakes! Every sector in this wonderfully powerful and recession proof economy of ours has been on strike. Every single person on this planet is feeling a dip in their pockets.

Striking won't reduce food or fuel prices, can't these people understand this! - They are causing more harm than what it's worth, maybe the public should strike against all the strikes!

What a bloody inconvenience - the roads are going to be undrivable.

Dont think we'll notice any difference. They are anyway just a bunch of trained monkeys. They are trained to do 1 thing, and that is all they can do. Dont try asking them anything else, cause they dont know! They can put a set of computers in line to answer their helpdesk calls, it will anyway be better than the monkeys answering now. Cause the people normally answering their phones, can't help me too.
 
They are striking... have they ever worked? As far as I know, tELKSOM uses contractors for all major work (and most minor work)
 
Strike Strike Strike ..... Looks like this is the only thing our newly found workforce is good for strike strike strike so they can get more money which in all I think is instigated by the unions I believe because hell they must be profiting out of it some how, why else all the strikes.....
 
Well orchestrated by COSATU. A different union every week!!!
