Anyone have like a useful means of contacting blizzard that will not cost a fortune. My account was suspended and like always no proper reason. Would like too know why.

Thanks

the reason they dont have to unfairly ban ur account is detailed in the email they sent you with regards as to why they want to stop making money from ur account that did nothing against the terms of use

copy and paste this explination of the (lack) of reason for suspending ur account and that might help with the path to get ur account unsuspended

Well there is a half arsed thing about account trading but the thing is this is a brand new account i got the discs played from lvl 1 until now. I did not buy this account or use it for anything illegal. Thus I find the explanation not valid.

Greetings,

We are writing to inform you that, unfortunately, we have had to temporarily suspend your World of Warcraft account and place a final warning on it.

Account Name: ****************
Type of Violation: Involvement in online trading activities Investigation Concluded: 18/08/2009 Consequences for Account: Account suspended for 72 hours, Password Reset and Final Warning issued.

It is with regret that we take this type of action, but it is in the best interests of the World of Warcraft community as a whole, and for the integrity of the game. After your suspension has expired, you will be able to access the World of Warcraft servers again.

Please note that should any further violations of our Rules and Policies occur, this will almost certainly lead to the permanent closure of your account.

Online trading refers to the exchange of in-game content for real world money, and includes, but is not limited to, the sale or purchase of gold, the sale or purchase of experience in the form of powerlevelling, and the sale or purchase of honor points, reputation or items.

Thus why i said no proper reason. This is all assumption and no means too close my account ffs!!

This account name mentioned in the email, is your new account, or the one you sold some time back?

You do have to wonder just how an investigation is concluded when the person accused of the infraction isn't contacted in any way to ask for an explanation as to suspicious or innapropriate behaviour.

You know, just a simple "Were you online at such and such a time, and if not who else might have access to your account that you know of? And if you were, given you acknowledge the terms & conditions of use, what the hell were you thinking when you did xyz?"

Just BAM, your account is summarily suspended or closed with only a very vague explanation provided.

if your new account is temp banned I'd check my pc for spywear and keylogger and I'd stop visiting dodgy sites if I where you...

Form the e-mail above it's clear it's not the first time they have suspended your account ;)

Blizzard will not ban an account without proof of such activities. I have had my account for almost 4 years now and never did anything remotely wrong. Not even Ninja loot :D. I only receive news letter from blizzard and nothing else. I take pity on those people buying/selling gold.

Just keep to the T&C and you should be problem free 100% of the time.

There is no way they will lift the suspension within 72 hours, just take a few days break from WoW, nothing else you can do.

I got this message yesterday as well - see below.

This is the first time that I have ever received a suspension and the account has been mine since day 1.

@Lordneon: Do you use a game proxy? I mainly use Gamemax but have switched to others on occasion.

couple of reasons for such a e-mail :) your account got low level hacked by a key logger and they use it to farm/sell gold. You bought power levelin battleground/badge farming and loged on while they where busy and got flaged for 2 ip's thousants of km apart in a couple seconds. Blizzard doesnt like them proxy you use cos you server hop like the gold sellers we love so much

You could also have pissed someone off in some way and they reported you for suspected botting or trading etc. Happened to me a while back when I was reported as a fishing bot. When the truth was that i was at the computer fishing for like 3 hours straight while watching "How I met your mother". I got a 72 hour suspension other than that no other bans etc.

Interesting.

I guess my problem is that I occasionally log in without the proxy, disconnect and reconnect with the proxy for arena matches where I need the lower ping.

I will stick to using my proxy and if they ban the account then it is a good enough reason to stop playing the game and move onto something else.

You know if they atleast try and verify something with a person that would be nice u know. But just going and suspending a account without talking too me pisses me off!

I am very paranoid about my account security. Have multiple script blockers, antispyware and antivirus programs. I also never type in my password and user name is saved ingame login screen so it would not be a keylogger.

And how exactly do you see that? Since this account isnt even 3months old. This is the 1st time in my life I get a account suspention in playing wow from the old vanilla days. I have not even gotten a wow forum ban ffs...

Yes I do and I only change too normal connection if i get too much spikes that seem too happen more and more on gamemax. So because I used a proxy they suspend my account is not a valid reason for me. I looked for something in T&C and dont see something say...*you may not use proxy connection too access wow* If I missed it please someone point me too it so that I know I was doing so wrong fully else I will demand money back for my suspended time cause I did nothing wrong!

No way like I said I never type in my password and i am extremely paranoid. I would know if my account was used for other things then what I use for myself. And im not a idiot when it comes too those silly scam email crap. I work in IT and see those things every day.

That ...well I dont know. I would say that is rather lame since again. A GM contacting you and asking what is up would help here. Then again their support sucks anyways.

Made a trial account logged a ticket and waited like 3hours with no response.

Anyways only thing that would make sense is because of the proxy thing then and that sucks because I know of no thing in T&C that would state...that you may NOT use it. If there is like i said point it out and i will move on and not use it again. Thought that is ****ing bull**** but what can we do....

Sorry was just an assumption based on "Final Warning"

As for the Proxy thing, I used Gamemax and yes I had a pretty good ping. I left it and I'm pretty happy playing with any ping sub 700 with no problem what so ever. I would much rather play at sub 600 than have my account Perm Banned.

This is not the first we have heard now in a few weeks about accounts being banned for using Proxy services. So take the hint then ;) Whether it's in their T&C or not, it's their game and they have warned you now not to use it. Better listen :p

Yes but if they suspend an account without being in their T&C its as good as breach of contract thus a person could actually sue them for false accusations etc etc. Im sure for some people those pings are fine but as a warrior tank and sometimes MT on raids I can not lag if I have too interupt, intervene etc. I need too be fast else I am utterly useless as a tank. I might as well roll a pallie facerolling tank or something like that u know.

Anyways I am not a happy camper. I dont like being accused of something If I know i did nothing wrong and I am not confronted and proven wrong 1st.

Blizzard do not allow the use of game proxies as the proxy hides your address from them (I have seen various posts on this and someone awhile posted to this affect on these forums).

Hackers and gold sellers use proxies to hide themselves and if they are deemed suspicious you can be seen as suspicious by association (i.e. you will share an ip address).

Here are some posts on the subject:

(A) From the End User License Agreement

B. You agree that you shall not, under any circumstances

(iii) host, provide or develop matchmaking services for the Game or intercept, emulate or redirect the communication protocols used by Blizzard Entertainment in any way, including, without limitation, through protocol emulation, tunneling, packet sniffing, modifying or adding components to the Game, use of a utility program or any other techniques now known or hereafter developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to, unauthorized network play over the Internet, network play utilizing commercial or non-commercial gaming networks or as part of content aggregation networks

(B) From a friend in Turkey that had a similar problem - he received the following email in query:

Greetings,

Thank you for your e-mail. Following an investigation into actions taken against this account we believe this account may have been accessed via a Proxy Service.

We appreciate there are circumstances when use of a Proxy can be beneficial however such services are routinely used to attempt to hide the actions of Online Trading companies and users attempting to use exploitative third party programs. As such, we do not support the use of Proxy services and if you continue to use these, we regret that this may result in further suspensions placed on your account.

If you wish to review our current Rules and Policies, they can be found at:
http://www.wow-europe.com/en/policy/

you switch proxy on and of at will so basickly your IP address bounces from South Africa to Europe back to South Africa in around 30 minuts. There are 11mill WoW Players they kinda busy and the have the terms of play and stuffs you want a detailed explenation why your pixles e-mail them and ask why why why me???

Easy.

1. Sign up for free skype account
2. Download free skype client
3. Call the tollfree wow support line (its on their site) totally free

ps. I hope you have a good headset and some bandwidth to spare for listening to teir music while you are on hold.

Best about this approach, you are at your pc and should have all stuff next to you that you need for the call.

Just use a proper proxying service... stay away from the freeby dodgy ones... after all, Blizz employee stated its ok to use proxy servers... as long as you dont use it to do dodgy things like hide your true identity.

Also if you state your case to them in the event that you do get suspended... they will remove the suspension.

Right it does seem like ill have too be ok without running proxy then...man it sucks :(

If only gamemax would contact them with details too say the servers their users run from and that way remove the unknown. I mean after all I do pay for my gamemax account.

Well the thing is I am still not sure if this is in fact the ACTUAL reason for them suspending my account and that makes me a little uneasy as I feel my hands are cut off since it feels there isn’t much I can do about it.

Seem a hell of a lot of unnecessary stress and crap too go through for playing a game that I do spend a good amount of money on just too be able too have a decent playing experience. >_<
