At R 239 for 1.5 GB the NeoGo service is effectively priced at R159 per GB. This is cheaper than iBurst’s R 199 per GB, Vodacom and MTN’s R 195 per GB and Telkom’s R 175 per GB for its 7.2 Mbps HSDPA offering.

NeoGo’s major pricing advantage comes with out of bundle usage. Neotel’s 8c per MB is multiple times lower than Vodacom and MTN’s out of bundle rate of R 1.20 per MB, iBurst’s 95c per MB and Telkom’s 30c per MB.

This is for a theoretical much faster service as iBurst.

I'm looking forward to the iBurst answer when the new promised product range is announced.

It will have to be cheaper than R159 per GB and 8c/MB OOB due to slower speed :-)

I recently locked myself into another 24-month contract with iBurst due to Neotel's slow progress in offering new products for the home user on a tight budget regarding internet access.

At the current iBurst rates, it would be cost effective for me to consider a NeoGo package on the side.

iBurst after cap provides a throttled service (at no extra charge) - NeoNoGo does not.

iBurst wins hand down.

It all depends on what is important to every user.

Virtually unlimted throttled speed is not important to me, but being able to put my laptop down and work via the virtual office link at high speed is important to me.

Makes the NeoGo offering very attractive.

At home I don't have Telkom, reliable VC 3G or MTN 3G, but I do have good iBurst and the neighbours have excellent Neotel.

Slowly but surely we are starting to see the effects of competition in the market.

I must say I like the slogan on page 1 of their price list...

Today you can get more with hidden costs you will want to see.

Makes for a refreshing change.
Hmm.. Out of bundle data @ R.08 per MB = R 80 per Gig. Looks tempting. :p
And the "Upfront device fee" is considerably cheaper than iBurst at R 1499.
