Mamodupi Mohlala is new Communications DG

Nothing can save us now. Can things get any better? No, only worse.

The greatest responsibility for the nonsense ADSL Regulations rests on Mohlala's shoulders. She still has to answer to the allegation that, after several days of hearings into the matter, she then in her capacity as ICASA Councillor and Chairperson of the ADSL Prices and Practices Inquiry, OUTSOURCED the writing of the regulations.

[May I just remind you that, with regards to the ADSL Regulations process, no other matter of public submission in the history of our democratic government has elicited as large a public response in terms of formal written submissions from individuals, as did this matter. I stand to be corrected, but iirc, not even the drawing up of our constitution drew as great a response from individuals. Mamodupi managed to fsck this up.]

Mamodupi Mohlala, you need to answer these allegations!! :(

Of course, then there's that whole nasty Jackie Manche/Bridget Mohlala/R100 000 missing from an ICASA safe story. Allegation is Bridget Mohala (then CFO, and cousin to our new DG - smell the nepotism-) nicked R110 000 from a safe @ ICASA, and Mamodupi stepped in to help protect her pal and frame Jackie Manche (then CEO) for it. Furthemore, it is alleged that this was just another action in an ongoing surreptitious campaign Mamodupi Mohlala waged against Manche.

Bridget Mohlala was ultimately charged with theft if I am not mistaken. But what of Mamodupi's role?

Like with Bush, the "collusion" requires a complete idiot in a certain position...It helps when they're corrupt too... :)

Blame the ones that deserve the blame...

Well done, Wireless Business Solutions!!!

Mohlala was nominated for the position as ICASA councilor by Wireless Business Solutions, the iBurst holding company.

Very very very disturbing. Perhaps we could get an answer for their motivation behind nominating her?

another wrong person for the job!. However, I loved how the article was written, and I honestly believe more articles should be written that throws dirt back at ICASA, DOC, Government, and every other questionable institution that hinders South Africa's ICT sector!

Maybe Vodacom3G will come and explain this to us!!!

Maybe pigs will fly, Telkom will replace the entire copper network with fiber and we'll have a government that actually knows what the hell they doing instead of just winging it.

But hey, what do I know?

Zuma's flare showing? All accused martyr's rise to the occasion please. Become part of an elite and unique group of "neo cons" running the country and all it's riches.

Well we cant go anymore backwards that what we are maybe we will just stand in 1 place for the rest of our life's remember this is Africa and that explains everything

When will the government start hiring people competent to do the job instead of giving high-profile jobs to 'allies of the struggle'. If they need to be recognised, give them an award or a box of ferreros. Same thing with the Police force....hope my kids wont see this kind of thing

meh

Oh no...welcome to Dark Africa.

I'm not talking about the fibre company btw.
