Blackberry Speed and Data Outage Issues on MTN

I know Vodacom users are having issues with Blackberry speed but are any other MTN users having the same problems?
For the last two weeks my average download speed has been 2-4kb between 10h00 and 23h00 on weekdays (normal thereafter).
The download limit has been capped on more types of files - can't download an exe more than 5mb and zip is the same - two weeks ago the limit was 25mb.
I just updated my firmware so I'm not sure if that's the reason or not but from 22h00 today I have no BIS service at all (no 'b' in 3G and edge in small letters).
Any other MTN users having similar issues or is my handset faulty?
I especially want to know if anyone else doesn't have BIS service right now.
I'm using a Bold in 3G coverage on MTN.
 
Same problem here since about 22:00. No BIS Service on MTN. Damn annoying! A few weeks ago I was getting 90KB/s+ download speeds sometimes at night but since MTN realised they can lower the speed since Vodacom BIS is hardly working things have been much slower.
 
I trust this is as a result of an upgrade or system maintenance. Fortunately BlackBerry is well used in MTN itself so this will not go unnoticed in the organisation.

I hope you are right. But I don't understand why MTN's BIS speeds have dropped considerably in the last few weeks. Also, whats up with reducing file size limit for downloads??? I'm sure MTN realise how bad their rival - Vodacom's Blackberry services are and reckon they can half their own service quality to save money and still stay on top. I would not be surprised at all. They are all snakes.
 
My guess is that BIS servers are overloaded. I think the 8520 is more of a success than they thought it would be, but considering how much money RIM make they could afford opening more servers.
 
As of 8:00 mine is also still down... they should make haste, my withdraw symptoms is starting to kick in.
 
My blackberry service is also down. :/ This is catastrophic. I am going to call 1555 now.

I am on MTN btw.

On 1555 they have a message stating that there is a problem with the Blackberry Service and the technitions are looking into it.
 
I am DONE telling people to switch to Blackberry! 80-100Kbit/s average on MTN this week is not on and probably thanks to too many people joining the BIS service because of the 8520. :-(
 
Yup. Mine is back aswell now. Required a battery out restart :P Whew...got 28 emails while it was offline which all stream in one after the other.
 
Nope.

It's not working properly. Mails are taking ages to arrive. BBM messages are taking ages to send and recieve. Spoken to two or three people on MTN having difficulties.
 
Aaaaaargh!Right in the middle of an important email :-( I see Opera Mini 5 still is working even with my APN settings disabled in 'options'. Strange.
 
Yup. Down my side as well.

Has anyone managed to get some information as to why it keeps going down?

I called 1555 but they just say their technicians are working on it and that's it.
