Firmware update and iPhone woes

Prime example of bad media reporting making Vodacom the scapegoat for an alleged bug within the new firmware...

Come on - this is wannabe sensationalist garbage..

Vodacom is not Apple. If there is a problem which I have not experienced on my iphone yet, then Apple will know about it and speed up release 3.X.

Even if Vodacom is the sole supplier, they certainly are not going fix a third party bug on a phone - how many M$ mobile complaints should the operators field...??

Stop this nonsense and concentrate on the factually important stuff:mad:

The same must be said about other handset manufactures. When a client has a problem with their cellphone. They blame the cellphone operator. The Cellphone operators only controll, maintain their network and bill you. They are NOT RESPONSIBLE for your handset WARRANTY.Your handset manufacture is..................

I'd be intrigued to see the number of users with the problem. It seems to be a configuration issue only, reset the phone (aka delete the wonky data) and whalla it works.

My 3GS had no problem with the update.

Why not pester Vodacom for Internet Tethering on the iPhone and Visual Voicemail?

I have an iPhone 3g from vodacom and I am running 3.1 firmware, yesterday my phone went completely blank and froze. It happens as well last week. All I did was hold power and home button in for about 10 seconds and it restarted. Thecother issue I have noticed is that my 3g reception is a bit weird Ill have reception but when I open a website it hangs forever. I fix it by switching 3g off then back on again, although when idid it this morning it said no service. So I am having issues with 3.1 3.0 was Better.

Vodacom specifically offers an extra one year warranty on your phone when you upgrade through them - even if it then ends up being repaired by the manufacturer its still VC's resposibility to sort it out.

More problems since update

My phone was working perfectly, until i updated the firmware. I am getting random freezes and shut downs while using it.... I hope the sort this out soon!
