My wow latencies are normally in the 340ms range (Aszune EU). Last night my latency was extremely high for some unknow reason (1600ms), and pings to the wow server's netblock frequently timed out. - Obviously something was broken and WoW was totally unplayable last night.

So guess my surprise when I logged on tonight and my latencies have automagically come down to 240ms.

I have a SAIX unshaped account through web-africa.

Do you guys think that since the SAT-3 upgrade Telkom is giving higher priority to our accounts?

I really hope it stays this way!

Traceroutes to UK servers are sitting at about 200ms awsm!

Edit: went as low as 230ms in WoW

I'm getting green lag on my saix unshaped as well, even shaped gives me only 600 ms or so. :D
 
Last night the battle.net servers went down in the EU, they just couldn't handle the load with the people upgrading accounts to get their free pet.

Playing from La Lucia to EU my ping is 260ms all the time on my Axxess Uncapped+ account. But friends who play from Berea or Pinetown on the same account type have lag from 400 to 600 ... I suspect that a big chunk of our lag is from local infrastructure.
 
What is it with the LAT the last week or so to the EU WoW servers?
I am on a WebAfrica UnShapped account and I was used to getting anything between 350-450ms (from Durbanville CPT). Now I am sitting on 650-850ms WTF????
Anybody else having bad latency?
 
getting weird latencies since about tuesday afternoon. Im on telkom unshaped
was goin up to about 1.5k at times. Switched to GConnect for a while and it was better, round about 500ms or so. Last night switched to Telkom again and I was back down to 250-310ms but still spiking every now and then.
I honestly think it's a Telkom issue atm cause of there so called experiments and sh!*
 
ya, im having similar issues. Using Webafrica Verizon/Sykes accounts and for the last week my latency in raids is close to the 600 range. I just dont understand it

When I use gamemax i get my normal 240ms but ofc i cant use that for 25 man raiding

Not 100% what fixed my issue but I can now raid with gamemax. Maybe have 1 random dc. Though last night there was issues with my isp. kept dropping packets.

Gamemax is perfect if im not raiding 25 mans, I would almost say its essential for Arena playing a melee class
 
Gamemax is FAIL for 25 man, thats why I replaced it with Lowerping.com service and they are 100% in 25 mans!
 
well I had my issues with gamemax as well but like I said been using it for running 25mans and 10mans a like for like last month or so and its been super stable. Well for me it has been. Added that I am running over a 4mb line atm.

They might have fixed things then? I tried for a very long time to get Gamemax to work and I worked closely with then to get it working.
The thing is I could never get it properly stable, but when I just switched on lowerping everything worked 100%

I have to state that this was a few months ago, so if they got it fixed, well then big-up to them!

Sometimes when i see comments like the above i wonder if its not just for advertising..

i use axxess unhshaped on a 4mb line. I got once 187ms during the web africa trail account and that was it. my normal latency is around 400 to 550 in a 25 man Raid.. if i had 300ms that would easily mean a +500 DPS increase for my warlock.
 
I'm gettting horrible 600-900ms on an WebAfrica SAIX unshaped account (the last two days). This is strange since usually I got 300-500ms on the same account.

The line is a 384 and the router is one of those Telkom Mega routers, which my flatmate and I are have some trouble with. Having to reset it once a day since no data gets through... We have 3 accounts on it to split traffic. This works but I'm not sure if this is the real problem.

Anyone got some ideas, similar problems or any feedback at all on this?
 
Same i have been experiencing lag since sunday evening 20:00... tried Axxess 626 and other Saix acc... probably blizzard/SA issue..who knows...
