BlackBerry Bold 9700 launched

I don't like the smaller screen. To be honest there's very little about it that's better than the original Bold. Slightly better camera, double RAM, and trackball are the only differences I can see.
 
Yes, I like the original Bold's 2.7 inch screen and would not want a smaller one. I would much rather have a trackpad than the irritating ball though.
 
Yeah, Blackberries are falling behind specwise now but BIS makes up for everything. I'm just not convinced I need to upgrade at this point, although the storm 2 sounds great (but the screen is only 1cm larger than the Bold)
 
would definately like to see these entere the area, and perhaps drop the price of the current bold to make contracts a little more tempting
 
I just spoke to MTNdirect and yes they are getting it, possibly in November, but no firm commitment.

Any inside knowledge on availability/price?

I want this :D
 
Have had mine now for 2 to 3 months without any issues except for bis being messed up :)

Tour 2(essex) 9650 has been spotted as well now and has a trackpad and wifi, rest are the same as the tour 9630. Here is a video of it.
 
Why would you want a Tour (even a Tour2) over a Bold 2? The Bold is the top of the Blackberry line and the Tour will probably never be released in SA (it replicates Bold, except it works on other 3G networks). There's no reason for MTN/Voda to bring it in. It took 6 months for my trackball to break and I have no doubt it will break again.

Just note that i compared the 9700 and 9630. The tour 2 will have wifi as well and the trackpad, alos bluetooth v2. They are basically the same with small things thats diffirent, network support and storage.

I have a tour and compared to the current bold that is available, tour comes out on top :)

At least there is diffirent options for people with diffirent choices.
 
LOL, a bit of a (de)Tour on the Bold 9700 thread :D

Bold 9700 rocks, I can almost smell it already, in my hands, very soon :p
