Oh yes you will, because in the same announcement, they will tell you that local bandwidth is throttled when you reach 3Gb.

;p

well thats were axxess 30GB comes in handy

Umm, hello, it's Telkom? They prob won't upgrade everyone - but if they do, they'll charge you for their upgrade which they "notified" you about.

Telkom will not earn less 4 the month of August. Do u people have any idea how many people r waiting to sign up for the lower prices?
Its the same all over the world, reduce the price and the punters keep on coming.

Or the people waiting to upgrade to 1024k.. which will probably cost >R650. Sigh..

mmmm. imagine a ferrari with 1 liter of petrol.....mmmmm imagine a 1mbit line with a 3GB cap.....

If this happens, I'll eat my testicles. It's *that* unlikely.

i'd like it, i intend on upgrading to the 1mb anyway!!

what is the chance that us current users will get forceably upgraded on the 1st of August so that we still have to pay the same amount for line rental that we did in July

You're describing the "free upgrade" scenario (As used in UK).
You'll have to phone them to downgrade to what you had to get the lower price.
Pretty clever, but methinks that teklom know that more than 89% of users will phone in for the downgrade and will be pissed off at being forced to phone their *** helpdesk service, so - no - they won't doit, and will just shift prices so that they make more money instead.

Telkom does not need to ask. They are a state in the state and they do whatever they like.
Just see Webafrika's unshaped 30 GB offer, on which Telkom imposed the scrapping of this service....

Take a look at your latest Telkom bills guys and you may find the answer?

We have 3 DSL line rentals at 3 locations (1 X BusnessDSL 512 and 2 X HomeDSL 384).
I just got the latest bill for one of the 384 accounts and the description on the account was HomeDSL 384 as per normal and the price for the Aug portion of the bill was pro-rata’ed down to the new lower price for Aug as per the Telkom press release. http://www.telkom.co.za/common/aboutus/mediacentre/pressrelease/articles/article_789b.html

No automatic upgrade to 512 and No “increase” to the new 512 price of R477, everything was as advertised as per the press release
