Hi folks
Just a short report back from the meeting with Telkom’s CEO, Papi Molotsane. The meeting was attended by Papi, Antowan, Cara and me. It was a friendly meeting and he looks very dedicated to both customer service and broadband. He is well aware of what needs to be done in the broadband arena and of international trends like triple-play, flat rate telephony and building new IP networks.
I made it very clear that we require action and not words, and he welcomed this move. He is well aware that he will be judged on deliverables and seemed eager to discuss such deliverables with us in future. We have not discussed any specifics yet as it was not really the place (seeing that the purpose of this meeting was only to establish a working relationship), but we hope to see a Telkom representative on our forums soon.
Issues like ADSL installation time, fault repair and broadband penetration is high on his agenda. He also recognized the great value this forum can have for Telkom.
In my personal opinion it was quite a refreshing meeting and I think he has the ability to bring something new to Telkom. The main question is now whether he will be able to back up his plans with action. It will certainly not be an easy task for him, but let’s hope he achieves what he sets out to do. As usual we will be here to see whether it is all talk or whether Mr. Molotsane is the real deal.
Regards,
RPM
