Hey Friends,

In addition to our Internet Solutions ADSL packages available right now, we are launching brand new gaming ADSL accounts.

These accounts will include a certain amount of Gb's from IS, and a certain amount from SAIX unshaped. Thus, effectively you will still get your local bandwidth after cap (no hard capping whilst still in 30GB's traffic) plus you will be able to game at the lowest possible latencies (SAIX unshaped).

Herewith, our new OpenPlay bundles:

3GB Total: R311 (2GB IS + 1 GB SAIX Unshaped)
4GB Total: R344 (3GB IS + 1 GB SAIX Unshaped)
5GB Total: R466 (3GB IS + 2 GB SAIX Unshaped)
6GB Total: R471 (5GB IS + 1 GB SAIX Unshaped)
8GB Total: R718 (5GB IS + 3 GB SAIX Unshaped)

These prices will be valid from 1 November 2005.
The IS portion of the bundle includes 30GB local traffic minus the IS portion of the GB's included).
Eg: 30GB - 2GB IS - 28GB Local after capped.

Kind regards,
MrBEEP

nice MrBeep.
How will it work?
Will you get two username/password and have to swop between the two or will the routing take care of it?
How about a 10 +1

Yes, you will get two different logons.

Its better that way because you don't want to waste precious unshaped bandwidth! Make it your secondary account. Then when you have critical stuff to do that requires untampered with bandwidth, like gaming, you just logon to UNSHAPED.

We will be expanding on these packages in the next day or so. I just thought I should get the accounts into the public forum for comment.

Warm regards,
MrBEEP

hmm i like that.. though switching acc. will be tad annoying. The cost for ussage is about the same which is nice :D

this sucks!!! That we have to resort to things like this.

ISP's are becoming like drug dealers or second hand car sales men!!! And Telkom is sitting at the top like the big daddy pimp

So does that mean that you've only got 1,2 or 3GB of "gaming" (SAIX unshaped) bandwidth?
And you've got to monitor you bandwidth usage seperately for each account?

Doesn't sound like too bad an idea. The only problems that i'd have are 1,2 and maybe 3GB isn't enough bandwidth for a month worth of gaming (BF2 in mind); and secondly i'd prefer taking shaped SAIX bandwidth for gaming at a reduced rate. Local games for me work hundreds with my current SAIX shaped account.

But i like the initiative shown here...

Hey,

Local gaming will work just find on SAIX servers will work just fine on the normal IS accounts....so we have created these packages specifically for those who enjoy their international gaming. Of course, gaming isn't the only thing you can do on SAIX unshaped.

Thank you for the comments friends. Any more suggestions?

Hi MrBeep,

2 Questions, are there concurrent logins for the unshaped (i.e 2users playing WoW on one line) and secondly if you see at the end of the month that you have a few 100MB's left over, could I whack a few P2P dowloads? And I second Sig_ZA, nice to see someone being creative with the configurations.

Great Work Mr.Beep, eventhough I am not a online gamer (esp. not int. gamer) I think this is a great idea! Your current package offerings (from IS and now this) are great and I hope to see them succeed!

Your package looks very inviting indeed.

I have heard of latency issues between the SAIX and IS networks. Their was a previous post with some test results - looked dubious, about latency/ping.

The best servers to play on local are at SGS. Could you please post some stats on tests if you use the IS account to play on the SGS servers. And then vice versa SAIX account to SGS servers. And if possable could someone confirm this.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks MrBEEP. IS' options are the best out there so far.

Mrbeep, these options are cool. but can we get them with openbrowse?
