Stumbled upon a great lil freeware app which is much the same as DU Meter, called NetMeter.. in fact its probably the same source code as there are big similarities. It has a graph for traffic usage (up/down) and logs for traffic usage per day. You can also set a traffic limit when the program will notify you that you are reaching X amount of transfer.. useful for the people with the 1GB hardcap accounts...........

Hope it comes in handy.. there are most likely other threads regarding this but seeing as the hardcapping may become an issue, a freeware proggie like this could prevent many a temper tantrum :)

From all the applications I think PRTG traffic grapher is the best. You can also add notifications with it. Only downside of the app is that its quite complicated for someone with little network knowledge/experience to set up in the first place.
 
Haha, I never even saw dasil opened an ancient thread - lolz.

I prefer using NetLimiter though.
 
DuMeter for me, simple and serves its purpose beautifully
