Telkom members’ register ‘held by Computershare’

Is a list shareholders share holdings the same thing as a members register as per companies act? For the latter does one not need to fill in a bunch of 'CM' forms e.g. CM23 etc.?

Seems like whatever you do to a monopoly the share price just rises and rises! To me it is indicative of how we are being ripped off! All the vultures are running to this highly recommended share because Telkom is riding the SA public bareback! YEEEHAAAA!

Great that Telkom has paid attention to the article in Business Day. They know we know what's really going on. I think they're running scared over this issue at the moment.

I honestly don't think telkom is scared of anyone or anything. They have become the giant that fears nothing and everything and everyone should submit to its will.

Goverments and regulators.....oh please, here have another lawyer.
Customers unhappy......suck it

Telkom call the shots in this country, nobody else.
Didnt they tell the competition board to go an stuff themselves regarding the fine?

what happens if the list has dissappeared ?

So has anyone phoned Computershare and asked if they have the register now that Telkom have claimed they do?

What are the big consequences of this then ?

Their AGM's were illegal, the CEO was appointed illegally, what else ?

I have indeed. They could not answer the question, and promosed to call me back. Needless to say I have not received any feedback from them yet.

Maybe a good idea for more people to call them: 011 370 5000

I got the response "Er..ok...we have had lots and lots of requests today for this because of the news report. Please leave your details and my Team Leader, Milly will call back."

Phoned, initially got told that they do hold the share register, so I restated my question: "Do you have the member register?" . Hold on please...

Got put through to Lebo. "Is Telkom's member register held by Compushare?"

"Yes it is sir"

"Thank you very much".

The Competition Commission - Whats happening here?

The fine was supposed to be 10% of Telkoms Annual Turnover.
It has also been reported that the commission has asked that Telkom pay an administrative fine of 10% of its annual turnover, which could amount to R3 billion.
Telkom's conduct ‘anti-competitive'

AFAIK nothing has been paid so far? Telkom rules the roost.

A never ending spiral of ****.

Hi Guys

The Computershare CEO came back to me and the register is available for viewing. The promised to send all the details through, and we will upload it as soon as we receive it.

Regards,

RPM

Telkom have a statement on their website refuting the Business Day claims:

Hogwash as usual.

Another little clip on Business Day published 22 Nov -

"OUT: Telkom’s company secretary Vincent Mashale, for its inability to produce a register of shareholders. If it doesn’t appear soon does it mean Telkom does not exist, that it was all just a bad dream?"

Hehe.

Notice: Telkom receives this in CD format ie it is to expensive to send it via a Telkom comms line and their cap will be blown!
