I realize that ISPs cannot please everyone, what's good for one individual may not be good for another.

What do you look for on an ISP? Price? After sales service? (this includes support)

How would you rate your ISP? Please justify your answer.

ISP : Webafrica.

Best ISP around in my opinion.

Great Support even at 3:30AM on a Sunday

They always try to give the best service/price they can. For that simple fact I am willing ot pay a little more to stay with them.

EDIT - The thing that makes WA great is not that they dont have problems, they do, but it is how they deal with the problems that do pop up.

Cheetah/Nukecap IS Based

Totally awesome, no problems at all...Fast support =)

My Thought

Been with two ISPs I say their service after sale is pretty SHI*E
As for the price, I think everyone is gaging for a better deal unless you're super rich & just don't give a damn

It seems to me as we're making some progress but it seems really slow, all I say is who ever gets there 1st is gonna make a killing.............;)

Web Africa
Excellent service and support. As Angellus stated above - they do have problems, but it's how they deal with the problems that set them above the rest.

Web Africa

Exellent, allthough I was told by Support on both occations when I phone them " ... in order to use adsl you need an adsl telephone line ...".

Dhu!

It may have been my rockspider english that confused them.:D

I have been using WebAfrica since August 2005 and they rock.

Best or very close to best prices for ADSL access packages with 4 concurrent connections

Dialup access included with account, great for use as backup to ADSL and to use when travelling.

Can effortlessly top up account with pre paid GB’s if one exceeds cap via the awesome client area on their website, even if you are capped.
Unused pre paid MB’s carry over to next month and do not expire.

Opening an account and activating services could not be easier or quicker.

Customer support and user interface unequalled.

That is all good and well except they only offer 1 concurrent connection which sucks in my book but guess it works for others.

DataPro has been good for me and DSL.

But the guys who really deserve some kind of plug from a web hosting perspective must be Hetzner in my book.

Why - I don't think they do anything else. They just focus on the hosting side and they are very, very good at what they do. Extremely fast servers. Extremely efficient management console.

Don't know of any downtime in the two or so years I've been using them. But, of course there must have been at least some downtime - but I never noticed any.

Their pricing is also good. I don't really believe that pricing is what it's all about though - especially when onselling hosting to clients. I need an ISP partner that works and makes me look good.

Hetzner does that.
