$100 Laptop Rollout Ever Closer

Well, it does sound like fairy tale, but if this works; it will change the world.

Pity it won't be available commercially - even at $200.

Green for the freebie kids version and funky for the commercial version.

From the specs I've seen so far, it would be an excellent typing machine in most offices.

I really like this idea and hope they can pull it off.

I know that our government was going to possibly get some of these.
Does anyone have current info on this project relating to the SA?

it sounds good, but putting into pratice might prove difficult at first.and somehow most hungry africans/or some other place/ food is higher on the agenda...

That explains Bill Gates's timely visit...
Why? AFAIK Microsoft has nothing to do with the project - it runs on Linux.
