By being down an average of 1 hour per day (and the news groups can be down much longer than that), IS saves around 4% a month - and still get to charge the same... I wonder if that is a motive?

Of course, they are welcome to provide an explanation on this forum, though they tend to be in the Telkom camp as far as participation here is concerned.

Resolved

An email from IS:

The Major technical issue affecting the International IS ADSL Service has been resolved. Service has been restored after the routers in Roaring Creek were reloaded.

Regards
The IS Ops Team.

whining aside for a moment ( :D ) -
would it not be a good idea for these forums to have an "alert board" where IS et al can post an alert as soon as a problem occurs. Would make them seem proactive, and limit the b1tching (and I include myself in the whiner brigade :) )

Surely they should do that on their own website(s).

How many people could be bothered to go to the IS website. And log on (assuming you have customer zone details) and so on. And the IS web site is a travesty anyway - it barely works in any browser other than IE.

Down again now where on the SA side
Business DSL over Fiber working well
