Mhh could this be the cause of my speeds dropping to zero (timeouts) and disconnections in Boskruin/Northgate area? If so I'll be a happy man and won't mind if the tower I use is (finaly) upgraded to 3G.
 
It is much better for me since yesterday afternoon. Please keep it stable and at this level of performance.
 
Reporting
924 kbps on Gamco speed test
1.3 Mbps on Telkom
550 kbps down and 305 up from IBurst
442 kbps down and 288 up from tcp/iq

1/5 signal strength in Irene
Granted it is 17:30 on a Friday afternoon but things has been much better since the upgrade.

Pitty they did not do the upgrade before I did my tests for the broadband report.
 
Tonight I got disconnected about every 10 seconds, so I am back on craaawling VM.

Yes this is the reason for the above, all should be up and running soon!

Please note,

There's still a bit more work to be done but performance should be on the up and up from now on

Durban??

for the past two weeks i've been complaining to mtn for its poor data service and they didnt say a thing about upgradin to 3G,guess the customer reps arent well informed!:mad:

Why is it that only durban central has 3G? the surrounding areas dont have it but go 2 joburg and its a different story!! :mad:

So does any1 know how long this "upgrading" is goin to take? three weeks of timeouts and blackouts arent exactly fun coz it also costs money!!!:(
 
The service at Hartebeespoort has never been great (edge only) but today Monday 18 September it is totally pathetic!

After the upgrade this weekend speeds will hopefully look a lot better
