XBOX360 with Xtreme Firmware!! Copied Games FTW!

Kwaai, im getting the XBOX360 Premium this week. I have some questions which only people with the XBOX360 can hopefully answer :)

Has anyone applied the Xtreme32/33 Firmware Update to their Consoles? Im very pos itive that the Firmware updates works, and then allows you to play copied games. But has anyone actually done this? I know www.defcon5.co.za also uses the Firmware Update to Mod your XBOX360 for R500, but why pay if you can do it on your own. I have the Step-By-Step guide, just wondering if anyone has done this.

Then another question: Which version of the DVD-DRIVE(inside the XBOX360) can i expect to get if i buy it this week. Im certain if will be a Samsung on, but it will most prob be the MS28 Rev? I hope to get the MS25 Rev FW, because that one is very easy to flash. The MS28 is alot harder, and the flash might not even work on it. Which FW version do you guys have, and where did you purchase your XBOX?

FaNIX, you'd have to be a complete tool to try chip an early console, the mods don't work, it's just hacker posing. The 360's we'll get in ZA are already later models that would have addressed the exploit.

Besides, chipping an xbox defeats the whole point, you can't take it online, Live will fry the machine.

No. People can't afford games because they ARE just WAY too EXPENSIVE.

If they sold the games for let's say R100 i'm betting more than 5x the people that actually buy now would be buying then (hell I know I would). So they would actually make more money, instead of limiting the buyers to a bunch of cash-chuckers.

That way everybody actually wins.

R500 a game...seriously. Before you blow your horn again, think about how ridiculous that actually is.
 
AFAIK even flashing the DVD drive on the X360 will have you banned from LIVE and anything related to the online aspect of the X360.

one thing i dont understand is WTF do you want to flash the X360? do you guys also flash your PSP, PS2 and microwaves so you can pirate stuff? geeez....

If you cant afford the games then dont buy the console..very simple rule..not everybody in life is supposed to or can afford to buy the xbox 360.

Dude relax! Damnit man...downloading and physically walking into the shop and putting the game under your jacket are two completely different things. Games are downloaded before they even hit the shelves so no one gets hurt ok? :p

By the way anyone played Just Cause lately? Awesome game hey? :D
 
Lol talk about not getting the support you wanted...

FaNIX: It's quite easy and you don't even need to pay anyone... What you need to do is open the Xbox, take out the core chip labelled 'XBOX 360 Brain'. Stick it in the microwave on Defrost, make sure it's defrost and turn it on for 12 seconds. That's it your done. Now pack the thing back up and throw it away.

You are to stupid to own one... If you can't afford the games don't buy the box.

Person , bud i know a good shrink because i believe you need one, you really seem to live in a fantasy land, what scares me is maybe you actually believe yourself because i doubt anyone else here does. Where you been living...in a cave? You 45 or something? This has been happening since the day I can remember. By the way I don't like consoles..I think they suck.

PC will pass both the Xbox 360 and PS3 regarding technology by next year June. :p
 
the mods do work, and with the newer ones (physical chips) you can switch the mod on or off (some do this automatically when an original game is inserted) so xbox live compatibility should not be a problem.

however, voiding warranty and soldering onto the circuit board of the optical drive isnt for everyone.

people who want to get clued up should go to www.xbox-scene.com
the rest should carry on being oblivious:-)

I agree with you man. My friend is getting one for free, cause his wife works for Microsoft (lucky bastard)...she can also buy the games for cheaper (once again...lucky bastard). That makes it worthwhile. But paying R699 for a game is a little hectic.

Downloading games for the Xbox 360 is also crazy...all the games on the Xbox 360 are all dual layer size (6gig and up) and now with them releasing a HD DVD drive, the games are going to be even bigger. Good luck on finding that much bandwidth in South Africa. :)

Eventually the bandwidth is going to cost you so much, that it would have been cheaper to buy the bloody game...unless you can buy an already downloaded one for R50 then again it changes everything.

lol... for one i dont care what you think, for seconds the aim about my post was aimed at people who pirate stuff, and for thirds a PC will surpass a console at any time as long as you fork out R10k for an upgrade every 4 months.

and just to add more spice, in my old days we needed skill to actually hack or mod something. Nowadays any 5 year old can hack anything. :p
