So i get that Xbox and Ps's are cool but come on it cant beat the Computer:D Graphics, games and anything else is just to good on a pc to think of changing to a TV.

It just a Q: Why even think of any other way. Plz tell me otherwise.

The bottom Line the Computer Beats anything.

PS sorry if this has come up b4.

The main difference is that PC's aren't as sociable as consoles. With a PC one can't invite a few mates over, sit back in the comfort of their couch, drink a few beers, and enjoy a good multiplayer session with actual people around you (instead of people halfway around the world who's expression you can't see after you just whipped their ass in something :D).

Compare xbox 360's and PS3 specs to current PC specs then come back ;)

u thinking of the 3 X 3.2 CPU's on the Xbox no one said that a computer cant be made like that and a computer has(should have) more ram Xbox has 500

HighFlyer>> I get that! It is priceless
but is it worth sacrificing the brilience of the game itself?
And the cost of games on TV consoles are crazzy,
about R200 more than PC

Well each has it's pro's and cons. For single player games you're better off getting the PC version, for multiplayer games get the console version. I have both so it's easy to say this but I guess for somebody who has to choose between the two, they have to look at their playing habits and what their preferences are.

The price difference I would say is because programming a game for console isn't quite as easy as programming it for PC.

Another fact about PC's vs. Consoles is that the consoles may be cheaper than a gaming pc's, but buying games for (lets say a PS3), the prices will start at about R600-R1000 for a new game where as with a pc, games are cheaper (about R300), but the initial price of the gaming PC is quite high. (Roughly R15000 for one of the top of the line pc's)

Frequent upgrades are also needed for a pc :(

The good thing about a pc is, graphics and gameplay are constantly being improved where as on a console, developers are limited to the current specs of say an XBOX 360 to build their games off, limiting their potential ;)

My 2c

I paid R4000 for my PC its a dual core 3.8Ghz with a 7600GT and 1gig RAM, every weekend mates come over with their PC's and we LAN, theres about 12 of us.

My little brother and his 1 friend play PS2 together as that is about as many people that can play PS2 together.

When I get off my PC and walk past the TV where my little bro is playing PS2, I have to squint my eyes to make out what the hell they are playing on that 8 year old console with a TV thats resolution could never compare to a monitor.

In less then 1 year the average PC will be faster then an Xbox360

just 1 more Q
can ppl link consoles together,
i know the multitap is cool but hmm

The new thing in the PC world is lanning
20 ppl can play a game like CS or whatever and still get up
ans say I wiped ya!!
Yes lanning is a slep somtimes but 10 hours of gaming isn't.

and Buying a gaming computer is bad...lol start small
R4000 = cant play BF2 but can play Source and War3 and UNreal ect.

Thanks for the replys

Just saw Mac's comment

PC prices are coming down everyday!!:p

A R3000 PC with a R800 6600GT can play BF2. It's only top of the range PC's that are quite expensive, and in my opinion a waste of time because their value will drop by half within a year and become a midrange PC. The hassle with PC gaming is the constant upgrading required, and in the case of DirectX 10 games you need a whole new operating system! With a console you just slip in the disc and play.

you people make me sick..all this blabba blabba
Did you check the international forums,the same debate,same **** differant day
I know of one site that said this,i try and put it in easy terms,so here goes
There cannot be a comparisen,why
Its all about money,advertisin,..etc
This one guy said that the pc is better than a console(reason a pc can do what a console can do,but a console cannot do what a pc can do
Did you get that
If not ,i think he ment that a pc is not only a gamin device it can do everything,from office to burnin dvds
Just get both devices and live in peace my brothers

Bwahahaha...sorry...i'm crying here....bwahahaha

this whole thread is my fault....hahahaha...i'm sorry...it all started like this...

i said that that PS2's are cool in the NFS Carbon thread...then i got the reply that PS2's are gay...and so the "are consoles gay" post was formed...then the whole pc vs ps2 thing came up and now we have the "PC vs the TV Consoles" thing started...hahaha....

well i know this thing ended by Vember saying that "both it is" but let me give me 2 cents...since i do play on both the PS2 and PC...

here goes "accouncing voice" the pros and cons of consoles and pc gaming and see who wins....

ok i'll start by commenting that you can't really compare the two because a pc is not really a dedicated gaming system...it's a multifuction unit...but let's try anyway....

1.) Ease of playing

Console = press power button...open tray...insert disc...play
PC = Same as above but...check that system requirements meets...check for updated drivers...make sure you have the latest game patch installed to avoid compatibility issues....check your direct x version....make sure you have enough free space....etc...

Console = 1 Point
PC = 0 Point

2.) Graphics

We have not even seen PS3 yet so let's work on Xbox 360...
Well to make this one easy a decent display card is gonna cost you the same as the 360 console

Console = 1 Point
PC = 0 Point

3.) Control

Okay the controller on a console is quite handy....but damn no chance for that working great in a CounterStrike Tournament....hey wait ,...what's this ..USB ports...hmmm..uses standard keyboard and mouse...well then...

Console = 1 Point
PC = 0.5 Point (because it has K+M as standard)

4.) Multiplayer

Yes yes the xbox has ethernet as well....but pc's will be the LAN king...(even though i don't play multiplayer)...i think it's fair

Console = 0.5 Point (Xbox 360 for effort)
PC = 1 Point

5.) Pricing of Hardware

No Comment

Console = 1 Point
PC = 0 Point

6.) Pricing of Games

Yes PC games are cheaper...but have you seen the Platinum on PS and Exclusives on Xbox Pricing...

Console = 0.5 Point
PC = 1 Point

7.) The Games

I Still can't find any of the new Mortal Kombats on PC :( ....anywayz...
quite alot of the games on PC's are ports from consoles and verse vice...so

Console = 1 Point
PC = 1 Point

The Conclusion

Console = 6 Points
PC = 3.5 Points

I guess for Gaming ...the main topic in this post the console is better at the end of the day

okayyy.....wait..the idea just came to mind that my last post might just start another war....(that was my opinion on the matter anyways) but i know that some ppl will not agree so the bottom line is

the PS2 VS PC VS XBOX VS 360 VS PS3 VS GAMECUBE VS WII VS PSP wars can go on 4ever....

here's the bottom line...play games...on whatever hardware you want...single or multiplayer....whenever...where ever...as long as you have fun :D

....

3.) Control

Okay the controller on a console is quite handy....but damn no chance for that working great in a CounterStrike Tournament....hey wait ,...what's this ..USB ports...hmmm..uses standard keyboard and mouse...well then...

Console = 1 Point
PC = 0.5 Point (because it has K+M as standard)
....

6.) Pricing of Games

Yes PC games are cheaper...but have you seen the Platinum on PS and Exclusives on Xbox Pricing...

Console = 0.5 Point
PC = 1 Point
....
Well AFAIK even though they might have USB ports, you can't use a keyboard + mouse on an X360, or at least not yet. And you can get that exact same controller for PC, so I don't really think the console derserves a point wrt control

Secondly, wrt pricing of games, have you seen how cheap some older PC games are? much cheaper than older PS2 or Xbox games. :cool:

Anyways, I still prefer the PC, mainly for it's versatilely. ;)

this will never have a conclusion...but consider the console as a dedicated gaming device, yet the pc is a multipurpose device.

the multipurpose device can be made to do a better job than the dedicated device, but the cost often outweighs the effort.

yeah you can only use keyboard and mouse for online chat on xbox 360, there is a petition if you google you microsoft to add keyboard and mouse support to its games

I THINK EVERYTHING BOILS DOWN TO, "IF ONE CAN AFFORD, THEN WHY NOT."
I personally think the PC is the best, but i can't really take my on the TRAIN everyday can i.
