US Unveils heat ray gun

Gee would be better if they unveiled intelligence or something useful to the world
 
Actually, that's south african governments responsibility, USG is responsible for technology.

Compared to a small lead projectile I think it's harmless :D

Seriously it heats you up to 50 degrees which is painful but your body can easily handle that for short periods of time. Just imagine putting your arms in an oven to take something out and that is 200 degrees.... You survived.

Now if you don't move after they start roasting you then it's your own stupidity that will kill you really.
 
I want one of these outside my house activted by a motion sensor....how much would it rock to aminister maximum pain to some punks trying to break into your house....

And also, at least its a non-lethal weapon.

That would actually be a seriously good idea. Can't see any legal objections to it being used either.
 
Another new toy for the Police state scenario, and crowd control.
Wonder why all this money spent on a crowd control weapon, are they expecting mass riots? , and if so why?

In places like Iraq etc., probably yes. A police state would feel nothing gunning people down, this is at least more civilised.
 
We wouldn't want rent-a-crowds getting harmed doing there job.

Yes , they will need these weapons to control the crowds of irate citizens, when they realise that those new habitats, will only be for the powerful , the wealthy and the elite, and that everything they worked for was to create a slaved society.
 
If i remember right from last months popular mechanics. The device works by exciting nerve endings close to your skin. Aka u get the burning sensation all over your body and not just your exposed bits.


There was plans to build a version that fired a beam which when it hit the spinal cord basically shuts it down. Think of them firing that gun at a crowd and just seeing everyone collapsing :)

They aren’t expecting them, they know that they are coming. There has been a large upsurge in anti government, capitalistic etc protests throughout the world and while many have peaceful beginnings they sometimes become violent. ANything that will minimise death or injury is welcome.

Is simple if you cant stand the heat get out of the beam.
