Come on Virgin, please talk to us. There are serious issues with your data network and it is driving your customers nuts! :mad:

i only use virgin GPRS every now and again, and it is mostly working... every now and again it does go down, but only for an hour or so.

are you experiencing more outages?

Monday after 17:00 Virgin EDGE/GPRS was off line until about 02:00 Tuesday morning. You could authenticate and that was it, no data flow.
 
You paying peanuts, what you expect?

Virgin's GPRS signal is not worth 50cents anymore, not even 10c
They came to SA to change the way our cellphone companies do
bussiness, as well as our banking sector is a target. Well i can tell
you one thing and that is if they handle the banking like they handle
GPRS this will be the biggest disaster in banking history.
 
I called them. The first guy was adamant it was working. I then asked him to recheck. 2 seconds later (yeah right) he came back and said it does work, but may be slow.
His supervisor then gave me some cr*p about having to identify me using security checks such as my ID and where I was born. What nonsense.
By the time I was finished (or frustrated) GPRS was working again.

STOP COMPLAINING.If you did not know VIRGIN MOBILE does not have a NETWORK.They can't help you if you have a problem with the NETWORK they are using

Don't get angry at VM, they don't even realize their network (which they use) is giving problems.

i used to vm a few months ago with similar problems.

they sure are taking a long while to sort their 'teething' problems.
 
WTF happening with Virgin??????? Man it's stressful logging on via virgin if I ever get in.We are paying for a non existing service. They take money from my acc before I ever get in then it just bombs out.
 
What happen to Piesang (for Virgin). Did he give up like everyone else?

The problem is about bandwidth. They haven't allocated enough for the numbers of potential users. That's how they can charge low rates. VM will confirm this whenever you call in. "Too many people, try later":mad:

I know all this. :) They are still selling a service as a network be it virtual. They need to have contacts and procedures in place to make things work the way it should.
 
I gave up on them. What the point of having something and might work when you need it.

When they fix it i will look again. Virgin sucks at the moment.

They should still take responsibility for what happens on the Cell C network which they use.
 
I see no problem with virgin mobile data/internet. i can always go on, and i go on everyday. I live in an edge area and when i connect to the net through my w810, the speeds are awesome! i can connect at 12 to 13kbps, downloads that use to take 40mins are done in 5.
 
I have complained to Virgin and i have been told that the data guys are working on the problem. But also i can't receive sms's on my cell phone from Indonesia and the data guys have been working on this for 7 months, just hope they don't take this long with the internet problem:mad:
