My MTN Pro Call 120 contract is expiring on the 13th of May 2007. I qualified for an upgrade since the first of January 2007 but I have been waiting for the Nokia N95.
In February I inquired what will happen to my current contract should I not upgrade by the 13th of May. One of Nashua's Upgrade Consultants told me that my contract will "continue running on a Month-to-Month basis"!!! Basically this means that I will continue paying the current Pro Call 120 subscription even though my contract has expired.
I did not take much into this thing cause I thought I will probably upgrade by May 13th. I called this guy again today and he told me that the Nokia N95 was available but I will need to cough out R2600 plus R315 monthly subscription. Obviously I am not prepared to pay that much!!! I then told him that should the phone not be available Free on Pro Call 120 by May 13 then I will just go the Prepaid route.
To my surprise, he told me that I need to fax a letter to Nashua head office and I need to give them 90 f*****n days notice!!!! This means that I will continue to pay for this phone for 2 more months even though the contract will be up!!! I told him that there was no way that I can do such thing. I then went to check the fine print on my contract. Just as I thought, THERE IS NO CLAUSE THAT MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT 90 DAYS NOTICE PERIOD!!!
Have anyone ever heard of such practice? What are my options here guys?
Thanks a lot for taking time to read this long post, much appreciated guys.
