Neotel opens lines for customers to form part of their service trials

It's all good on paper, the press release is all flowers and hugggz and teddies but will it actually be push comes to shove?

Well I have just sent my email off to NeOTel [hopefully soon to be NeoTel - a company that actually does provide telephony services], at this stage I am so fedup with Telkodemonopolies and this <384kbits/s disservice and would certainly welcome an alternative broadband service to complement Vodacom's HSDPA - I do need 2 broadband services in case one of them goes down, besides ADSL is not mobile, i.e. I will be keeping HSDPA no matter what...

Sweet, sent in my application. Hoping for the best.

Well I can also do with 2 services. Right now I've been denied the right by iBurst to rightfully use my link to download torrents. The motherb*tches are playing a Telkom on me and I hope that Neotel will be my salvation even if the cost is the same.

We need as many forumites in the joburg/pretoria area to apply to increase the chances of having some of our guys picked :)

And, as usual, Kwa-Zulu Natal doesn't exist. Surely if they want a broad range of geographical locations, they will have to actually look at places that are not Joburg or Pretoria?

We'll get there Kasyx......

I think we'll be 2nd or 3rd on the list of trial rollouts.....

Here in Cape Town we will have to wait & see. Hopefully we will get good feedback from our fellow forumites in JHB & PTA. Go guys & apply, I would if I could.

Dude this is not a roll-out but a trial so if it works in Jo'burg/Pretoria, it will work in other parts of the country and they can start roll-out. I only think that it makes business sense to do these kind off trials close to home and their home is in Woodmead (Jhb).

BTW, Have sent mine early this morning...

Just wondering how many of us that are applying are [specifically] considering turfing a Telkodemonopolies ADSL 384kbits/s line & replacing it with something like CDMA2000 from NeOTel? - likewise to everyone still on dialup that is considering NeOTel...

PS: While I'm not all that thrilled by CDMA2000, I can only hope that it would cost a lot less and work a lot better than the crappy Telkodemonopolies ADSL <384kbits/s I'm currently stuck with :(.

Woaa, I got a reply 10 minutes after I submitted my application. Hope my name gets drawn out of the hat....
