Hi folks
We have just returned from a meeting with Telkom and ICASA, called by ICASA, to discuss and possibly resolve (find a middle ground) some of the complaints from our members regarding Telkom’s provisioning of the ADSL service - with specific focus on the ADSL regulations. This was a pro-active step by ICASA and something I think they should be commended for.
Some agreements have been reached to alleviate some pressure off ICASA’s Consumer Complaints Commission (CCC), but some issues remain unresolved and will require an official ruling from the CCC.
What is very encouraging is that ICASA’s new CCC takes your complaints very seriously, and has in fact resolved many issues since their inception. They have called individual members to ensure that the problems they experienced with installation times and fault resolution issues have been resolved by Telkom.
I will give a full run down of the issues discussed and will obviously ask your feedback on how we should proceed.
Regards,
RPM
