Apple releases Safari browser for Windows

cant comment on speed yet, but what's up with the uber bold fonts?

all sites' i've vistited so far ('cept for apple's own) fonts are rendered uber boldly... and kinda blurry... :(

EDIT: and when you want to report a bug, it crashes...

now how the hell am i supposed to report that?

This is part of World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco. Expect some new toys in the Apple Store. :)

Lot better than IE.
Now, if they could just port the Mail program as well......

I checked it out for a while and in my opinion, unless you're a serious Apple fanboy I see absolutely no reason to use this over Firefox.

Bleh, majorly buggy. I can't even set up a proxy [button greyed out?] and it keeps asking me the user/password of my IE proxy "automatically" even though it's all windows authentication....so obviously when i DO provide a username+pass it crashes.

So basically i can't use it.

Bah! cant set proxy, words 'proxy'/'proxies' doesnt exist in help neither does 'connect'/'connections', rendering is ugly as sin, nothing is where it ought to be... more rubbish from a rubbish company.
Apple is good for one thing and one thing only: for my gf to update her blog whilst lying in bed Carrie Bradshawing out.
Basically: a girly browser for girls, real men wanna edit .cfg files 'n **** ...aaaw YEA!

Apple: Rotten to the core

...ookie dookie - that should get em going - fanboys: ...bring it;)

it seemed to pick up my proxy automatically, but i also have a greyed-out button, so am not able to change the settings either

interesting though - will play around with it a bit

(this post typed using safari, btw :))

It's bloody awful. Locked up within a minute (without actually doing anything). On my system, no text in the interface displays (so the menus are all blank). Interface does not comply with Windows guidelines (e.g. you can only resize it on the bottom-right corner). Doesn't seem to offer anything particularly new (though it's hard to tell without any text in the interface).

OK, i've tried Safari.

For quite a few years now i've been using Opera and Itunes. I've downloaded other browsers and other music software on many occasions, but i've always stuck with My 2 favs.

Winamp, musicmatch, dbpoweramp, foobar - and loads of others i've tried, and none stay on my PC, some get deleted after just looking at it for 1 second. Browsers, well, most are just a front for explorer, and who wants something like that, not me thats for sure.

Anyway, there comes a problem you see. I've never actually mumbled to myself, "i think i like this", whislt using an alternate browser, never. That is quite scarey, because it could mean a divorce is immenant (sp?)

Looks like i kinda have a thing for apple software. Safari gotta nice feel about it, and yes the look is also great.

Maybe i'll end up with 2Xapple software on my PC - time will tell.
