Good day

On my bank statement I noticed that all payments to Web Africa are going to: M*WEB AFRICA NETWORKS (P CLARE

I seriously hope that MWEB is just your payment gateway. And who is P CLARE?????

No, the M* is a code the bank uses to mean it was a manual (card not present) transaction as I recall.

I work for a bank and I dont know this?
/me buries his head in the sand.

When i say MWEB, I realy though here is the end of one of the greatest ISP's we have.

Bingo. False alarm :)

We're still privately owned. This is definitely an annoying quirk though, I'll speak to our accounts department and see if we can't change this somehow to avoid future confusion.

Unless MWEB had an attack of insanity and has a cheap ISP running on the side, then no.

Mweb uses: Multichoice Subscriber Management Services (Pty) Ltd - Internet Division

Like some Capetonians say "I nearly died" when I saw the thread title

Phew what a relief when I read your post :)

Don't scare me like that.... M-WEB is even worse than Telkom, they prey on the uninformed. If this was real I would have broken some record to cancell all my Accounts with them.
