FNB hit with major downtime

FNB experienced downtime across its ATMs, online banking, and card payment channels which has been resolved, and FNB Connect is experiencing an outage on its ADSL services.
 
Well one could always carry all your cash around and never have this type of inconvenience.
 
Was in Checkers earlier and subsequently found out there was an outage, but my FNB card worked at Clicks which was weird.
 
I had to pay cash for groceries today. Many people were swearing mad.

I felt sorry for the cashiers, it was not their fault
 
This very reason I have a "backup" account with another bank. R5 pm and chuck some extra change in there for a rainy day. Been caught by this fnb blackout before.

My sister has a problem at Clicks, that's how we found out there was a problem. Luckily between the two of us, we had enough cash. Went to the ATM straight after; was out of service.

Getting stuck at a till like an idiot is embarrassing as hell.

If FNB don't catch you with downtime they will get you with not being FICA compliant with no warning! Been there and got a backup bank in Capitec.
It looks like we need backups for most things in SA.
 
2 cards worked at Spar right next to an ATM ? Cash withdrawals after only buying a plastic bag ......:D
 
FNB peeps, did you get your salary? I've got no email or SMS notification, and internet banking is down. :cry:
