"Some Mac users upgrading to Apple's new Leopard operating system are encountering long delays on reboot — an experience they liken to the Windows 'Blue Screen of Death.' While some of those upgrading were able to access their computer after waiting for as long as several hours, others were forced to do a complete reinstall. Some suspect that a framework called 'Application Enhancer' by Unsanity LLC may be causing the problem, but there has been no official word from Apple at this point."

AFAIK its all down to the Unsanity app.

I installed Leopard (I am in the USA), after doing an extensive carbon copy back up of my drive. I am running MBP.

I too had the blue screen - after runnning out of patience I simply rebooted the machine and it restarted again showing the blue screen, but eventually came up.

After the install ran for about 1.5 hours. I had 9.5 gigs spare on my drive when I started, and now have 4.1 gigs.

I have been experiencing a very sluggish system, and have slowly been turning off all 3rd party apps. I have a lot of Photography programs, and when I performed Apple update, there was a 100+mb Aperture update, which I was not aware would be coming out with Leopard.

Only been on Mac for 1 year, so not as technically adept yet, but still loving it. There are some cool features, and I am sure once the crinkles are sorted it is going to be awesome.

That Aperture update is available under Tiger as well - noticed it on Friday.

Will get it at work.. :o

Installed the update today ahead of leopard. :)

Not surprised. They become struck dumb whenever they stuff up and then release a sneaky update in a few weeks and pretend it never happened at all.

Well now that I have spent most of the day playing with it, I must be honest and say I am not as impressed as I thought i would be. I bought the family pack for $199, and consider $40 per computer as very reasonable.

There are a few cool features. I really like Time machine for automatic backups, the new browsing options and upgraded spotlight.

To be totally honest if I was in SA, I would not bother spending R1K for this, but for $40 i is worth it. I will delve deeper into Leopard throughout the week. I just love the ease and simplicity of Mac compared to decades with MS.

WRT to performance I have not really noticed an improvement , but then again it does not seem slower.

Photoshop, Aperture, Lightroom all seem to operating at the same speed. Microsoft Office was a little slower in the beginning, and quite a few 3rd party app's are not working and have been disabled.

The system seems to reboot a little faster. My disk is 95% full.

Time Machine really seems to perform a back up a lot faster than any other programs I have used, although it is still running.

Once again this is not a major upgrade/change compared to Tiger, but still enjoying it.

just wana add my 2c.
i work at the apple store in sandton. on the 26th we received 100 copies of leopard. it was launched at 7pm. the store closed at 7:30 or summin. saturday morning at 11 ( we open at 9) every copy was sold out. it was mad. we only had 1 or 2 customers come back cause they tried the upgrade and got blue screen.
i installed it on my macbook and had this problem. was about to do fresh install when i saw the 3rd install option. the one where it saves ur home folder or summin. worked perfectly and now im frikken loving leopard!
