Overcrowded market

Almost everybody watches TV , of course, but how many will pay extra for the dubious privilege? The market looks set to become overcrowded, it is not a field that Telkom understands, and the upfront costs are scary.

Bwahahahaha...Telkom also doesn't understand the word competition :D
Happy times ahead.

Overcrowded? Are they bloody mad? They don't have *any* competition in the fixed telephone/data line industry yet, and one pathetic excuse for competition is not going to make things 'overcrowded'.

This article sounds like it was written for Business Day by Multichoice.

No-one else in their right minds could possibly argue that the Pay-TV market is overcrowded.

For consumers, there is one upside, Telkodemonopolies will have to rollout ADSL2+ if TelkodemonopoliesMedia has any hope in hell of succeeding in the PayTV market.

Sadly Telkodemonopolies is not up to the task considering that it only hopes to provide ADSL customers with 10Mbits/s in 2011, which has to be an example of sheer incompetence - taking into account the migration of DSLAMs to roadside distribution boxes to shorten the copper length to each ADSL customer's premises.

overcrowding? where? must be true then if telkom says so....:D

In the article 'overcrowded' relates to the pay-TV market, not telecoms.

Telkom doesn't say so. The writer of the article says so.

@GC, I think the author just used a bad choice of words or turn of phrase - the PayTV licences haven't even been issued yet AFAIK - promised by !CASA but not issued, and although there are 5 promised licensees, only one of them is currently commercially operating, and that is of course [Mo]noChoice.
