How to recover lost partitions in XP

hello guys

i lost all my partitions with important data when reinstalling xp on my computer. i tried many programs like active@ partition recovery, fdisk, partition magic, etc. but i just cant get it fixed. one main problem is that most of these programs are demo versions and they dont let you do your stuff unless you pay them a lot for it. anyway, if anyone has some valuable hints, please do help. i'm totally lost here. and its been 5 days now. please help...

provided you have not written over the data when re-installing windows, you have a good chance of regaining your data using Easy Recovery Pro and other software discussed here.
 
Download Hiren's boot disk. Best thing ever. I had a similiar problem and fixed it straight away with the boot disc.
 
thanks for that guys....i have an older version of hirens boot disc, but the active partition program doesnt detect more than 4 partitions. ive already tried different programs on the hirens boot disc, and now it doesnt even show my xp partition. its showing the 250gb as entirely unallocated, whereas, earlier, it showed 2 partitions(atleast) where one was for xp and the other belonged to vista. i havent written, or copied or modified any of the partitions that i lost. but some softwares are not even detecting these partitions.

i'm downloading hirens version 9.3 now . hope it helps...or like our friend kasyx, i'm gonna be in mental dillemma for quite a while. :) feeling mad already...
 
oh man, this totally sucks. i thought that darned link would work , and just to throw fuel on a burning man, the damn thing stops downloading half way. they reason that ive "exceeded" my daily bandwidth quota (150MB per hour)....what junk is that when i only just started downloading the file....!

i really doubt whether i'll ever get this fixed at this rate.

and yea, prayer is all thats been coming out of me for the past 5 days.

does anyone have the link or any idea where i can get the hiren's boot disc 9.3 (completely)? any help will be truly appreciated guys.

yeah i know exactly how u feel dude. it sucks when ur pc is messed up. that sick feeling u get is awful :sick:
