General Hardware and Software FAQ - replies

Have look here where they compare ATA vs SATA (not SATAII) and from what I've seen the SATA drives are usually faster than the ATA drives (but not always, hence the "usually" in my statement) :)

Seems to be faster in boot times, but that can be cause the way the BIOS looks for the drives. In the real world tests they are pretty much all the same, in synthetic benchmarks (who cares about those?) there is a difference in favour of SATA...

Oh, and why cant i use IE6 or 7?

Except for that whole "Live search" bar, which I loath and cant get rid off, its get the job done.

NOTE: I am just being difficult perhaps

I'll edit the original post to include "marginally" :)

And a list of decent software firewalls? I use Comodo Pro, can't remember names of the other good ones right now.

Great thread.

Perhaps Routesentry and Bootdisks (Hiren, UBCD) also deserve a mention.

Beanie does it take less cap to send an email that includes software rather than to download it self??? I would actually like it if u would maybe send me some drivers!!! :p

Rather download it yourself, saves my cap

When I email it to you, it uses my cap because I'm uploading it to you and you use your cap to download it. So, if you download it yourself you only use your cap and not mine ;)
