I have a Mecer Cape 7 sans the charger. Any ideas, its a strange hexagon shape jack, apparently 12v 5.5 amps? Also, how to go about opening the device?
I bought an MSI z370 gaming plus Mobo less than a year ago, needless to say it blew up when I replaced the PSU with a brand new EVGA 650W. The company will only fulfil the warranty if I post it back from a USA address. Amazon were completely unhelpful and claim they only responsible for returns...
My Vodacom Kicka 4 has two sim slots, one is hidden by the plastic frame, which is attached via several screws, if you unscrew it, you realise that Vodacom have blocked one of the sim slots with their rolled version of Android. Wish I could unlock, but probably requires a stock rom for the phone.
This piece totally ignores the early BBS scene and the contribution of Worknet, which was very much a part and parcel of the struggle. I used worknet to access usenet groups, we had email in 1991 and before WWW, there was gopher, lynx and pinemail. It also ignores the Beltel Network which was...
Got back from holiday to find several small packets waiting for me at the Post Office.
Needless to say, they all got taxed R24 per packet, apparently due to a change in schedule since November 2017.
This represents $1.8 handling fee on any small packet originating from overseas, regardless...
WebAfrica appear to be blocking Livestation, an app used to access Livestation.com in order to view streaming video channels like Al Jazeera.
I get a 502 error gateway timeout whenever I try to log on.
This is after using the app successfully for past three years.
Web Africa have started sending me threatening letters. The latest reply from Ronald Kotze of their service department indicates that I am soft-capped at 14GB on a monthly 1mbps uncapped account. I do not think this is acceptable service at all, but rather a ploy to squeeze more money out of...
Check this, so I supposedly have a 384kb line from Telkom. I decided to check out the openbrowse deal available from openweb, which is basically a proxy service allowing you to use your local bandwidth to access international pages using http protocol. At first my account was set up as 192. I...
This is really bad, half the pages I click on don't load. I get a lot of 404s and everything is taking a long time. I've called technical 3 or 4 times, logged faults but all I get is some stupid person telling me I'm capped. As far as I can tell, most of SA isn't local, the co.za domain isn't...
